BARNES OUT
That really is a woeful shot from Hussey. People who asked where Hussey was for the 15 years prior to his debut, he was in Shield cricket playing that shot to every seam up bowler in the country.

Bit of a weird call to open with Hussey honestly. The guy is the best lower order ODI batsman in the world, why not open with Hopes, who does it in domestic OD cricket?

Bloody good pill to get Hussey out, had to play at it with that hint of shape, and then jagged.
You can see why Steyn is a handful when there's a hint of movement. Methinks that if the pitches in SA seam, like they often do, life for our batsmen won't be that easy.

Agreed. Was genuinely surprised when I saw him at the crease after I flicked on the cricket.

Would have opened Hopes myself as well. Just makes sense.

Very poor choice to go in with Hussey as the opener, seriously why would you push one of the best finishers of limited overs cricket to open the innings (something he hasn't done for a fair while), Hopes might not be the greatest option, but he was the best available option atm, and atleast he has been opening the batting for Queensland for the last few seasons, so he is used to facing the new ball.

Exactly what I thought. He's such a great finisher, as shown in the last Twenty20, so why make him open when there are other options in the team? Annoyed, but not surprised, that it failed. Hopes would have been a much better option. I'm sure he's opened before in an ODI or T20...

Haha, unimpressed with the people bagging Hussey opening. Make a call before he gets out next time. Fantastic ball to get him.

EDIT: Hopes is not the answer either.

It's not so much about bagging Hussey, it's just a strange call to open with him when he's made his name down the order in ODIs and you've got Hopes.

Could understand why they weren't given, looked sort of high both times. But would've been a fair call if one was given. Ponting going super hard at the ball too.
