A very brave effort from Smith there, if it wasn't for his injury then this game would have been entirely different and even with it South Africa nearly escaped. Amazing heart shown by this South African team.

Such an incredibly good series. If, say this was a decider, it would have to down as one of the greatest of all time. Certainly the best since 05, for mine.

Johnson has a decent case, only he was part of the losing side.

Best series since '05, no doubt about it.

If it had been live going to Sydney it would have been even better. Such a high quality of cricket, played in a great spirit, and every game closely contested. Great finish too.

Awesome series!!!! One of the best in recent years (admittedly only watching Australia play) Can't wait for the return series already!

Amazing effort by SA and great to see Aus finally convert a good position into a win. Great ball from Johnno to knock the stumps down.

Yup, Smith's injury made a big difference along with the toss on this wicket. Its amazing to think Australia won all 3 tosses in the series, could well have been 3-0 if SA had won the toss here on this wicket.

What an amazing series and what an amazing game, obviously disappointed that the Aussies lost the series, but cricket was clearly the winner, and it was fitting that Mitch took that last wicket to win the game for Australia, he has clearly been the stand-out performer for Australia through the summer.
