Worst batsman ever to score a Test match 100

He (Smith) is the second worst cricketer to play for a test side other than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe that I've ever seen.
Out of interest, who is the worst? Ontong and Petersen spring to mind as those who looked truly awful but I think they were both a fair bit better than Smith if you take their decent First Class performances into account.

Dwayne Bravo is still to come back from injury though, so he'll be the one to replace Chattergoon or Marshall. There's a few seemingly ahead of Dwayne Smith in the queue right now anyway; I doubt he'll be playing a Test any time soon.
Smith has gone Kolpak and has said he fancies playing for England...

Ganga > Dwayne Smith IMO. At least Ganga scores runs at First Class level ocassionally - Smith only averages about 25 even there. I suppose you could argue that Smith's more of an allrounder than a pure batsman but he was selected as a specialist batsman when he made that debut ton.
Yeah fair point given Smith was then selected as a batsman and at least Ganga can bat some overs in test cricket, scoring runs is a different issue.

Ahh yes, I remember now. I think I even commented on that somewhere on CW when it happened. That takes his chances of playing a Test any time soon from "decidely unlikely" to "about the same as Mathew Sinclair's".

On the other hand Devon Smith also had a test century, he was pretty poor. Probobly not in the league of Sinclair but poor none the less.

Thami Tsolekile.. Talking more about his batting than his glovework which wasn't the worst..

The worst batsmen I have seen (as opposed to bowlers/keepers who can bat a bit) who have recorded test centuries are Adrian Griffith and Trevor Franklin
Great call for Franklin. The least watchable batsman it has ever been my misfortune to watch. I saw him get 100 v England in either 1990 or the following tour and it was truly miserable viewing. I began placing heated needles into my eyes purely to distract myself from the sight of his dreadful innings
