Worst Delivery Ever?

I'd probably go Trevor Chappell's although I guess is was quite straight really.
It did precisely what it was designed to do and was indeed pretty much online. Not a lot you could do with it as a batsman although it wasn't at all threatening I guess. I'd definitely rather my bowler deliver that every ball (providing it was legal) than what Tuffnell and White managed - let's put it that way.

Cricketer Of The Year
Mike Whitney (IIRC) to Kris Srikkath, 1991/92, pitched a yard and a half outside leg stump. Even worse, it got Srikkanth out LBW. End of Srikkanth's career

Tuffers was trumped by a delivery of a similar nature, just worse, in a domestic OD game a few years back, about 2003 time. Can't remember the bowler though.

Anything Chris Matthews dealt up in his first spell on test debut would also be up there.

I've bowled balls that basically pitched as soon as I'd let go of them when I had the yips the season before last. Horrible feeling, especially when I knew it was going to happen before I bowled.

Hard to say what the worst delivery I've seen in proper cricket - possibly the Harmison wide. I've got a bit of sympathy for the spinner who gets it horribly wrong and it's inevitably that one ball in a few thousand from a decent seamer will be a disaster.

In a Pura Cup match, Shaun Tait bowled a ball from the same end as the bowler in this photograph which was so wide, it literally didn't land on the cut portion and raced away to the fence just in front of the scoreboard. Twice.

Took 6-fer that day so it wasn't all bad.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Worst delivery I've personally bowled was in a junior cricket match with an incredi-ball on a day after it had been raining. Slipped out the back of my hand and landed somewhere near long on.

Worst delivery that wasn't really accidental was a 3 bounce ball on a ****ing hot day at San Isidore.

It's always been the way with Tait that you just don't know what's coming.

I've seen this happen in Tests, Devon Malcolm being the responsible party.

That's a dead-ball though. I think the idea is only stuff that is actually a legit or non-legit actual delivery that gets at least some way down the pitch and goes down in the scorebook, though obviously it's usually going to go down as a no-ball or a wide.
