I'm a bit miffed about O'Brien being there. The guy's a hero. Sounder in defense than most of the top order...

I see you've given us plenty of time to make up our minds! Martin the obvious choice.

Voted Kaneria - someone has to have Geg's back. Dire thread though - batter is what goes round my fish and chips, ****.

If Chris Martin stayed in the pavilion he'd be more succesful.. I seriously think the bowlers would hit the stumps less because they would have less of an aiming reference..

I think Nel can hold a bat and has saved SA's arse on more than one occasion with it

Remember this match?

The commentators were screaming, "Nel needs to get a single! Get Boucher on strike if South Africa are to have any chance of stealing this one!"

Then Nel hit consecutive cover drives for four and won them the match with a single. All off the last three balls of the innings.

Dunno about more than one, but his contribution won a ODI - against NZ - after Styris missed a straighforward-ish catch off him not so long ago.

I think "who's the second-worst after Martin" would be a rather more notable (if not especially interesting) question.

Haven't really seen much of O'Brien but even though his bowling has gotten massively better in his last few games his batting is still 100% O'Diren. MSP obviously isn't many great shakes but occasionally has played the odd half-decent short innings.

James Anderson, Nel and Munaf Patel are certainly not anywhere near being, however.
