Cheating

What the clip doesn't show is whether he appealed for it. Do we know that he did? If he did, that is indeed the gold standard.

A classic selection of YouTube half-wit racists commenting on it, too.
If memory serves he got a ban for his actions, so I assume he must have.

& yes, people who comment on YouTube make one weep for the species.

From YouTube.

Doesn't look too flash from the head-on angle. Seems to have it, let it go & then close his hand again.
Funniest thing is Botham commenting "Brilliant, brilliant, just as the replays clearly show Bell emulating the Harlem Globetrotters' ability to control a bouncing ball.

btw has Bell actually bowled for England since that incident?

Haha, an American saying if ever there was one.. Thank God they are only good at their own sports
Hey, it's not OK to be a loser. :p A win by cheating is still a win if no one finds out.

Rashid Latif is the gold standard for claiming a blatantly grassed catch for mine.
Haha, yea, that's terrible. Gotta take my statement back about Clarke, that's much more amazing that he expected to get away with it.

17 overs in two hours to prevent England taking a 2-0 lead in the Caribbean in 90/91 - Desi Haynes at the helm

Later in that series Viv Richards intimidating Lloyd Barker into giving Rob Bailey caught behind off his arse

Good ones Fred. I was going to mention the Haynes one which was ugly and calculated.

The Bailey dismissal was a staggeringly bad piece of umpiring. Barker had already called "over" before he gave Bailey out...

.....but it was a long time ago Mr Z - happen we should be more forgiving - after all they may have simply been remembering Tony Greig running out Alvin Kallicharan as he walked off at the close in one of the tests in 73/74

I'm cringeing at the thought. On that particular day, Lancashire fans must have been ashamed that Tony Grieg played for their county.

All the more reason why the punishments need to be stringent for those who are found-out, to intimidate people into thinking it's not a risk worth taking.
