As the thread starter bottled it I thought I’d try Z’s – I have included three ringers to stop it getting more obscure than it is

Zulch
Zavos
Zaremba (top UK employment lawyer and CW celebrity)
Zaheer Abbas
Zesers
Zoehrer +
Zamora (former Brighton and West Ham striker now with Fulham)
Zondeki
Zahid Iqbal
Zulfiqar Ahmed
Zippy (popular kids TV character from the 70’s – stumpski’s avatar this summer)

Bit iffy all round really but with Mr Z as skipper they're ready to take on the world!
What no Zaheer Khan :-O

You are not gonna use Hooper as a bowling option, I am sure. Then why not replace him with Hussey?

Damn, you beat me to it! I was going to do one in honour of Jason Krezja. I might do an alternate one :)

Richards, B
Richardson, R
Richards, V
Ranjitsinhji
Ramprakash

Pretty darned good team. Would prefer to drop Richie R down the order to replace Ramps, and bring in another opener. But who?

Imran Khan figures in I in all data and Younis Khan in Y (just like Wasim and Waqar figure in W. That is the norm for Pakistani/Muslim players.

Come on Sobers has to bat above Stewart...[though in this team, I personally would have preferred him at no. 4, but at least no. 5 is a must. Why should he always be at no. 6 in any team?]

No room for Ian Salisbury? I'm disgusted

Shaggy Alfresco

State Captain
Atherton, Michael (c)
Barnes, Sid
Chappell, Greg
Dravid, Rahul
Elliot, Grant
Faulkner, Aubery / Flintoff, Andrew (depending on conditions)
Gilchrist, Adam (wk)
Hadlee, Richard
Illot, Mark
Johnston, Bill
Kasprowicz, Michael

Came up with this off the top of my head. E and I really, really stumped me. Fix those and we'll have a team that could challenge any alphabetical XI.
