Cricket Web Red vs Cricket Web Green
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - CW Oval

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Inspired bowling by none other than Gaurav Nayak demolished Cricket Web Green after they looked to be cruising to victory, and helped Cricket Web Red to a thrilling 16-run result. Nayak took a clear career-best of 6 for 54, and was primarily responsible for the slide of CW Green from 195-4 to 219 all out. It was a truly remarkable implosion and one that saw Mat Mitchell the lone remaining batsman when all was said and done. Andrew Garven looked likely to guide the chase home, but his was the 9th wicket to fall to a thin edge to the wicketkeeper for 42. Garven hung around for a few seconds even after given out, and replays proved inconclusive as to whether he actually hit it. It was a 6th wicket for Nayak, and Sean Bennett wrapped up the innings less than two overs later, when Josh Forner chipped a low full toss to short midwicket.

Earlier the Reds struggled to mount a genuine challenge with the bat. Slow going in the middle overs cost them, as Jack McNamara in particular was effective in keeping the runs down. His tight bowling ultimately paid dividends of wickets too, and a game after he took his first 5-for, he took his maiden 4-wicket haul. James Robertson hit a pleasant enough 86 and Chris Dwyer threatened with 45, but a total of 235 was always due to prove difficult to defend. And while Rob Malone was on his way to 57, the Reds appeared dead and buried. Something truly remarkable was required, and Nayak willingly obliged.

Cricket Web Red Innings 235-7 (50 overs)
JA Robertson 86, CR Dwyer 45, MP West 22*
JP McNamara 4-36
Cricket Web Green Innings 219 all out (45.4 overs)
R Malone 57, AJ Garven 42, CJ Dinnen 39
GN Nayak 6-54
Cricket Web Red won by 16 runs.
Men of the Match: GN Nayak (Red)

Masters XI vs Cricket Web Blue
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - Casston Reserve

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

A big batting performance and a terrific allround bowling effort scripted an easy win for Cricket Web Blue over Masters XI. Morgan Burridge set the pace with 95 from 110 balls at the top of the order, and Pete Young kept the middle order together with a typically confident 77. But it was the calculated hitting of Sudeep Popat down the order that made the difference between a good total and an excellent one for the Blues. In the 49th over he hit Shane Bond, pacy as ever, for 4 boundaries, and then in the last over of the innings he collected two more fours off Tyron Henderson. Popat finished on 31 from 15 balls and CW Blue scored 304-7.

Following on from their disappointing bowling performance, Masters XI hardly started any better with the bat. Neither opener reached double figures and when Brian Lara nicked Manan Shah to slip, the score was 57-4. There was no recovery. Instead there was just frustration, epitomized by a slow 70-ball innings of 38 by Luke Ronchi. Shah collected 3 more wickets and led the charge to bowl out Masters XI for 168.

Cricket Web Blue Innings 304-7 (50 overs)
MC Burridge 95, PE Young 77, S Popat 31*
SE Bond 4-60
Masters XI Innings 168 all out (44.5 overs)
JM Kemp/L Ronchi 38, BC Lara 29
M Shah 4-35
Cricket Web Blue won by 136 runs.
Man of the Match: MC Burridge (Blue)

Cricket Web Colts vs Cricket Web Black
OD - Chef de Groot Trophy - Fardin Qayyumi CC

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Cricket Web Black made an excellent start to a chase of 267, but an inexperienced middle order wilted under the pressure, as Cricket Web Colts took 9 wickets for 69 runs to win by 73 runs. Joshua Ritchie raced out of the blocks and onto a 43-ball half-century, but as the middle fell away he slowed his pace until uncertainty brought his downfall. Ritchie dragged a wide ball from Andy Pimpkins onto his middle stump and fell for 78.

Pimpkins knocked back 3 wickets in a sharp and quick spell, before Kyle Wright cashed in with 3 of his own late in the innings. The Blacks crumbled from the heights of 124-1, into the 19th over, to be all out for 193 in the 42nd. The Colts batting was altogether much more impressive. Though they struggled briefly on 55-3, they received the required courageous batting to recover. Will Kerr patiently compiled a century from the number three slot - 110 not out from 134 balls - and Daniel Towns was similarly resilient in his knock of 75. The right-hander hit only one boundary in his 93-ball innings. Mike Wilson then capitalized on the hard-grafted platform by pacing himself well in a cameo of 37, pushing the score on to 266-4.

Cricket Web Colts Innings 266-4 (50 overs)
WA Kerr 110*, DP Towns 75, MW Wilson 37*
ZE Gelman 2-32
Cricket Web Black Innings 193 all out (41.2 overs)
JJ Ritchie 78, CR Burge 29, AJ Blackman 26
A Pimpkins 3-19, KS Wright 3-48
Cricket Web Colts won by 73 runs.
Man of the Match: WA Kerr (Colts)

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Christ. Plenty of starts, a small extra effort from just one person would've put us over the line. Played Jack Mac, again and Nayak....grudgingly.

Tozzer, you wouldn't have hit more than Mamesh's 18 anyway.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Great win that, even though Black had most of their side out. Looked as though we'd get spanked for a moment, then came back well. Congrats to Kerr on his maiden century :)

BARNES OUT
About 180 more than I thought we'd make. Promising signs in that loss really, add a few cool and experienced heads back into that lineup and you've got a comfortable win.

Smith and I really needed to step up with the ball if we were to have a chance. Poor effort. Really well done by Ritchie and congrats to Kerr. :)

Really happy that we won,but really pissed with my own effort with the bat, need to go back to grade cricket and find some form, as i am doing no good to the Colts atm.
