Eddie's ladder matches are always gold.

Does anyone remember his ladder match versus Edge on Smackdown? By far one of the best free TV matches I've ever watched. Might've been no-DQ, though, can't really recall, but a ladder was heavily involved, with one of my favourite spots ever.

Not sure if I saw that match but I wouldn't be surprised if it was good. No-one could do gimmick matches like Eddie, another fave's are his Parking Lot Brawl with Cena or his Halloween Havoc Title v Mask match with Rey.

Speaking of which, what happened to Rey, ever since his move to RAW he's had one squash against Santino and nothing more. Ridiculous that they've got nothing useful for the guy.

Where that's true, I wouldn't say that there's a great deal more for him on Smackdown at the moment either, which is a shame, as from the E's point of view he is a big draw.

Anyone but me think the wrestling is really looking on the up lately? Apart from the fact they've kept Cena at the top things are really looking up.

I'd say it's definitely improved over the last 3 months or so yes, mainly down to Chris Jericho keeping it interesting imo, sigh, my hero.

Massive improvements for mine, as they're actually trying to get fresh faces over in the hope someone can be the catalyst for a rise in wrestling again. Without Edge however Smackdown would be nothing though.

But that said really happy with what they're trying to do. Looking forward to this Adamle angle as well.

Never had much of a problem with Cena myself, infinitely prefer him to the gassed up freak that is Batista.

I've been pimping that match for ages, as sledger will testify. Glad someone else has seen it. What a classic, best cruiserweight match ever.
Haha that was exactly what I thought when I read duffers post, though I'm ashamed to say that to date I still haven't watched it all the way through :( onto episode 7 of Haruhi now btw

If you're watching it in chronological order, don't complain if it bores you now on.

Definitely up there. WCW had some stonkers as far as their little guys went. In no particular order my favs were:

*Eddie v Rey - Halloween Havoc 97
*Eddie v Jericho - Fall Brawl 97
*Rey v Psychosis - Bash at the Beach 96
*Benoit v Sullivan - GAB 96 Falls Count anywhere (if only we knew what the hell was going to happen with those two)
*Eddie v Malenko - Uncensored 97 (I think)
*Malenko v Ultimo Dragon - Starrcade 96
*Jericho v Ultimo Dragon - BATB 97
*Jushin Liger v Brian Pillman - Superbrawl (early 90's sometime)
*Benoit v Malenko - Hog Wild 96
*Juventud Guerrera v Blitzkrieg -Spring Stampede 99

There are quite a few more but I can't remember them off the top of my head, but if you get a chance to see any of those you won't regret it. Quality stuff, makes me long for the days WWE had proper competition.

Well, they had a three-hour Nitro, so they packed the first hour full with wrestling, and wrestling alone. Cruiserweight and Tag matches, usually. I've seen about half of those matches, and I agree. Definitely quality stuff in there. However, you have to remember that the WWF was the competition back then. :p

EDIT: Holy ****, I just watched Eddie v Edge again. What a match.

I can't understand the WWE booking team anymore. Not on RAW anyway. Not only does CM Punk lose AGAIN, but they put the match with the World Champ in it halfway through the show and make Cena/Batista the main event. Hell, Cena even straight out said "everyone is interested in Cena/Batista at the moment", though it wasn't a direct reference to the championship status, it's still a fairly **** indication of what sort of a state it's in at the moment. Has Punk even won a match clean since he won the title? I just honestly can't see the point in making a champion consistently look like ****. They may as well have not bothered giving him the title in the first place. And now we have Punk/JBL to look forward to at Summerslam, goody.

Also Summerslam is shaping up to be a giant bag of ****. The only match worth watching will be HIAC.

Dunno, I was thinking it looked quite decent tbh.

And as for the World Champion getting buried for the sake of the supposedly "power players" as it were, is nothing new. I remember at Summerslam about 3 years ago when Cena/Jericho should so obviously have been the ME, but instead it was relegated to the mid card and HBK/Hogan made the ME, argh. Same will obviously happen here, though can't believe they are going to push through Cena/Batista at this stage with ony 3 weeks of build up.

I'm not too fussed about Punk. I suspected he'd be mismanaged from the beginning so none of this surprises me. A career of upper mid card beckons in all likelihood.

What pissed me off more was seeing them annihilate Rhodes and DiBiase like that. I hate these part time Tag Teams beating specialist and credible tag champions. There are better ways to fuel a rivalry rather than the done before Tag Champs who hate each other bollox they're using now. And they wonder why no-one cares about the Tag belts, Cryme Tyme should've had a match against Priceless at Summerslam, but they can't get on TV unless it's in Cena's shadow.

The only plus for the show was Adamle's performance, he handled himself really well out there and am interested to see how he'll make Kane reveal what's in the bag next week.
