This is why SA will win this test. The SA openers would never have played that shot at such a point in the match. They would have grinded out a good total where as England go out and try to attack everything. :@

Bad shot but good catch. England reeling at 1/15, and if they lose another wicket before they get to 50, they will be in real trouble.

How far off stump did he take that from? Boucher would've taken that almost in front of slip. Brain dead at best...

Hes had the fortune of bowling to 2 of the worst batting lineups in recent times for a significant part of his career. To make things better, hes had the opportunity to do so in seriously swing friendly conditions.
But he's also shown that he can swing the ball, provided it's not a **** ball, regardless of conditions.

Yes, it'd be good if he could get the ball to go the other way (he can obviously bowl the to-order straight one) but that inswinger in itself is a huge weapon.

And obviously this is probably a cue for him to get out, but Vaughan's footwork so far this innings has been good. Wish he could do this early-innings more often.

which is why today was the first time this series that he swung the ball remotely consistently. no one can swing the ball all the time, there simply has never been a bowler who has done that.

its good for vaughan that hes facing as much of ntini as he is at the moment, probably the best way to get back into some sort of form.

Good bowlers with good seam-positions who bowl the right lengths can swing the ball any time, if it's a good-quality ball and if the shine on it is right.

We've had a hell of a lot of very poor balls this summer, which quite a few bowlers have not managed to get to swing.

Yep the tentativeness thats plagued him lately doesnt seem to be there, and as a result he's looking good. I just hope he doesnt get too agressive and get out.

I've said previously that he's in good form once he gets in, its just that SA have done a great job of bowling straight and full to him first up which really takes advantage of the lack of footwork when he first comes out to bat. Something the English bowlers just havent done with the SA batsmen.

Caught extra-cover, would you believe it?

Don't let that detract from Amla though, excellent catch.
