U19 Debutant
so why cant the selectors give him another goIn fairness to him, in the ultimate pressure situation at Edgbaston in 2005, he didn't crumble - he took the catch on which the Ashes rested.

Because he wasn't, and isn't, very goodso why cant the selectors give him another go
His hand wasn't off the bat at all - that is an evil untruth put about by Australians - the Umpire said it was out, my eyes saw it was out and Wisden says it was out - no howls of anguish from me My Learned FriendBecause Kasper's hand was off the bat when he gloved it? Not relevant to Jones' bottle in taking the catch, Fertang.
Who cares? Over the summer as a whole, to quote the great Bumble out of context "we flippin' murdered 'em" - gongs wholly deserved (and Colly's too)I've always shied clear of saying it would have been 4 tbh. But for rain the Test at The Oval would have been so different, the circumstances dictated a lot in that match. That being said, Flintoff's bowling on the Sunday morning was just awesome. For me that was just as important as Pietersen's knock. Sure, Flintoff had the gloom and the situation, but Pietersen had two drops and another half-chance.
Nothing wrong with that mate - it was like the resurrection today - next year may yet go the way of 2005LOL yeah I don't actually care, went off on one a bit there just don't think it would have been 4-1. Might stick The Oval on DVD in a bit when the missus goes to bed, that spell from Flintoff....
(yes I am a Flintoff fanboy who cares?!
I don't agree that Taylor was a better keeper than Knott, but even if you take that point of view it's marginal and both are all time greats on their on keeping alone. This present bunch are nowhere near good enough with bat or gloves, in fact they're an embarrassment to the position.No. You can't ignore batting (in)ability. A keeper needs to score some runs to be worthy of his place. That's why Alan Knott > Bob Taylor. Taylor was the better keeper, but Knott the more valuable player overall.

I'd rather have him in the side too, because he's an incredible batsman. Sangakkara's standard with the gloves, though, have declined horribly. When he had to keep for a test in the WI series, and again in the IPL, he looked like he'd never done it before. If you have a solid keeper like P Jayawardena, pick Sangakkara as a specialist batsman. If there's no other option available behind the stumps, it has to be McCullum i believe. Unless Murali is also in your side, then you want Sanga keeping.I'm a believer in picking a keeper who is an excellent wicketkeeper primarily, but interestingly enough, when Uppercut mentioned he thought McCullum to be the best keeper in International Cricket atm, I thought to myself that that was perhaps true, but I'd still rather have Sangakkara in my side. Surprised myself in fairness.
I do. ****ing twit ran Jimmy out.yes I am a Flintoff fanboy who cares?!
