Can someone please tell me why they have a drinks break then change the ball an over later? Huge waste of time. Why not leave the drinks break until the end of the 34th over and then change the ball at the same time?

Common sense my arse.

And, meanwhile, do they have to play the same song every single time a batsman gets out. Pitiful DJing in England here.

Yes. It's been the same for years. There's only 3 "dismissal" songs - the inevitable from Queen, that one about "now that I've found where you're at it's goodbye" and Don't Look Back In Anger. Similarly, EVERY England batsman, and the fielders, always enter to that crap from Eminem that has been the "team song" for 6 years now.

Bloody annoying innit? Think it's the same in many other places.

If Ambrose were to score in the last game, no. In any case, 3 failures wouldn't be enough for me.

BTW, you want someone who's done precisely nothing of note all career other than have a decent 2007 in the side do you? Hope not.

Swann gone.
Sounds like another dire shot, and he's supposed to be able to bat a bit.
As for Mustard, he wouldn't be my best choice, but I was jsut saying that Ambrose has hardly been an improvement. fwiw Foster would be in if I was picking the side.

I forgot, this year they've added Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

I'd forgotten about Read & the ICL.
As for Mustard, was his keeping as bad as Prior's? Given Wright's troubles at the top of the order, I woudn't be surpiseed to see Mustard back for SA & Wright back at number 7.
I wouldn't take any notice of someone who forms an opinion (which he confuses with fact) on a player based entirely on looking at career stats and what team he plays for.

Mustard is a far better keeper than Prior, he had a lean spell in the 50 over stuff earlier (but then so did every Durham player bar Di Venuto) but has struck some form lately in the Twenty20s making lots of fast cameos without a really big score yet (he's 11th in the highest run getters this season I think).

He can. He's not going to score every innings though.

Aye, starting to think that way myself too. As I say though, I'd give Ambrose this summer. Not like his domestic form's been poor. Far better than Mustard's. Ambrose is very obviously a better batsman than Mustard, Mustard has no class at all. He was exceptionally fortunate to play for England ITFP.

Astonishingly thick. Surely the idea was to get Shah on strike, not take a dodgy second to the non-strikers end. Do these guys have a brain cell between them?

What d'you expect? Shah's crap mostly even when he's batting vaguely well on the easiest batting pitches you'll see.

I'll keep reserving my judgement about this score until McCullum gets a century.
You're home & dry unless England take 3 in the first 10. Even then I'd fancy your middle order to see off our trundlers. Maybe if you lose 4 in the first 10 you'll need to worry a bit.

Really, you think it's that good a pitch to bat on, or are the English and Kiwi fans just trying to outdoom each other here?

The pitch is a road. Maybe some tennis ball bounce at times but other than that Shah and Bopara showed it is easy to score runs.

How on earth is Southee getting wickets?
