Not much swing, but he bowled straight and fast right from the start. Glad to see him not fielding on the fence as well, after Brisbane.


Worcs recovered from a very similar position so it's not over, but looking decidedly dodgy for the home team.

Unless one has been intently watching the game (which is impossible) or listening absorbedly on the radio (impossible) or via the internet (possible but in this case, impossible) how can one decipher that Matt Prior slogged a century? Or are we now going by the logic that a quick strike-rate automatically connotes that the player has being employing some very agricultural stroke-player? Despite the fact that Nottinghamshire set extremely attacking (inviting) fields and have two frontline seamers who have been rendered to nigh on useless with the older ball. Is it so ridiculously to suggest that Prior may have actually played well?

Cricinfo’s match report seems to confirm such a notion as it mentions Prior played an innings illustrating his trademark penchant for the cut, pull and cover drive - hardly by the sounds of that it was an innings of Afridi proportions…

Hence the "appears". No suggestion of certainty there.

Prior does tend to slog a lot, though - his play against high-calibre seam is well-documented as poor. And a damn decent attack of Pattinson, Franks, Ealham, Shreck is not one I'd expect him to score against TBH. I might read the CricInfo report to see whether he's defied my expectations.

Same here. Was really the only reason I was interested in tuning in and time I switched back over, he had come and gone and Hampshire’s top order was decimated.

Jones seems to be coming in off around 10-12 yards. Getting tonked a bit now, this is a handy partnership developing here. Chance for Dimi to put his IPL disappointment behind him.

Change of boots has slowed him down to the mid-80s, perhaps the new ones are pinching a little. Umpire Gould seems to be interested in them, anyway. Both umpires miked up for this match and all televised games in the FPT this season.

Seems to be striving for some reverse and when it's not happening he's drifting onto the pads a bit now. Good to see him back in the harness anyway.

No need for any annihilation - just over 4 an over needed means they can take it steady, a wicket now would hand the advantage back to Worcester.

Gareth Andrew is the worst bowler I have ever seen at county level, with the possible exception of Chris Wright.
