CW Battrick Cup, season nine

EARLOBE

State 12th Man
lol. Thanks for the match. I don't know why I didn't choose to bat first, such a waste of PFL.

My ratings were pretty awful compared to what I expected too for some reason.

Lost to PY pretty convincingly, Beaumont and Stonebridge scoring half centuries, next highest scorer was Allison with 46... interesting.

End of Over 40: 224-4, runrate=5.60, reqrunrate=5.60 (279-10)
Hartburn 10-0-65-1
Kemp* 21 (26 balls)
Read 4 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Kepler c. Howard b. Chinnery 109 (FOW: 197/4)

Right...56 needed off 10 overs, Kepler's gone, 1 wicket should crack them wide open, and I have probably my best two bowlers on (just a bit worried that one of them is a spinner). This could be close.

The first over goes for 6 singles :@

End of Over 44: 245-5, runrate=5.57, reqrunrate=5.83 (279-10)

Hamed* 2 (4 balls)
Kemp 31 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Read c. Howard b. Mabudafhasi 13 (FOW: 241/5)

Need 35 off 6...1 recognised batsman left in Kemp.

Two fours in the last 4 balls...it's all over. My bowlers were largely ineffectual, which was a bit of a surprise. Especially the superb/quality/proficient quick and strong/competent/proficient spinner, both of whom got pasted. All in all not really a bowler's match in both innings.

This is too much...Turner on strike, last over, 2 needed and 1 wicket in hand. Spinner bowling. Come one Wotton, do something!

Won it in the end. After last week's collapse though I was a bit nervous, considering that I had no more batsmen to come.

Victoria Panthers - 204/10 off 41.3 overs
Eyre 105 (76)
Bertos 25 (22)
Terry 23 (23)
Smart 3/46 (10)
Greene 2/17 (5.3)
Hindle 2/33 (10)
Littlejohn 2/79 (10)

were defeated by

Brackenhurst - 205/3 off 41 overs
Hamlin 96* (80)
Brazier 75 (136)
Burnip 22 (33)
Churms 1/21 (10)

Haha, over the moon with that win. Browne's captaincy was excellent at the beginning of the game, awesome field placements and well executed especially by Littlejohn. Got pasted, but got Bertos for just 25 and then Terry for good measure. In fact, all the bowlers were ace. At 41/2, I thought we would struggle, but the inspired selection of Brazier payed off immensely, especially playing him at 3. Blocked out Churms while Hammers went on the attack and the rest is history. Eyre was simply awesome for teh Panthers in what was a wonderful game. Thanks stacks for the friendly Mike, you have the better side without a doubt, but today just wasn't your day. :)

The Milky Bars are on me!

Can see us losing from here. Need a big bowling performance from Willetts and Sishayi. Rested Murali and Jeithoon from this match. Would like to win, but wouldn't mind playing Smith next round tbh.

Wow, heck of a game! Could have gone either way - I'm just glad I was asleep and didn't have to deal with the tension! Gutted that Boggles beat Four Pillars and that I go out on NRR, but I would have been happy with one win in this part of the competition a few weeks ago, so I'm stoked to have got two. Turner MOTM for another great bowling performance and hitting the winning runs. Could do with some decent support bowlers for him and Woods though - never looked like taking a wicket in the middle overs.

0.6 W Hirst to James
Caught behind! Hirst digs the ball in short, strikes James on the gloves and the ball pops up to Fish for an easy catch.

Rout beginning already
