Given the role White usually plays in teams, he's not a bad bowler. He bowls **** sometimes, but given he's picked as a batsman and used as a partnership breaker, 161 wickets @ 38.24 on unhelpful Australian pitches really isn't that bad. As long as no-one is under the impression that White is a bowler or selected for Victoria based on bowling at all, his bowling is perfectly acceptable.
The crap he gets for his bowling is just as ridiculous as the fact that he was selected as a bowling allrounder for Australia a few years back. His bowling isn't great, but it doesn't need to be given how good a batsman he has become. He's someone who should be given a bowl if selected, but one who should never be selected based on his bowling.

Yeah he played most of the season. Missed a few games with injury, as you'd expect, but he played more than he missed. Did really well in the Twenty20 comp as well FTR.

So nothing! No one is saying anything about his batting FFS. He could be Bradman with the bat and that would be fine and great, but if he bowls crap we can't call him a crap bowler? If someone bowls, its perfectly fair to criticize their bowling. I don't understand what's so complicated about this.

Played quite a bit and started bowling in the last few matches of the season. Last OD innings I think was a gun one against WA, last FC he bowled well and made starts before getting out. Reckon he'll bowl well in this match.
