**Official** England in New Zealand

144-1 can turn sane people into raving lheunies TBH.

Every batsman whose Test career is under threat should be scheduled for at least 2 consecutive Tests at McLean Park, Napier, North Island, New Zealand.

Complete waste of time bouncing Bell, the brain seems to have left England again.

But well done Fleming, now gogogo to your test match hundred.

Yeah, Damien Martyn broke his finger then aggravated it scoring 88* (off about 60 balls or summat) in the World Cup final and missed the Test leg of the tour. So Brad Hogg played. Warne was also banned and McGrath injured, so Bichel, Lee and MacGill got in.

Can't remember the exact circumstances of that series, but why did Australia play 5 bowlers? Injury?
They played five bowlers for most (/all?) of the series IIRC. The pitches were flat, Warne was out, Bichel was in good batting form and there were a few injuries (most notably McGrath) throughout the course of the series as well. So a combination of lots of things, really.

Broad's getting a bit close in his follow-through now too, he has to be careful.

Smart, sensible batting by NZ there. We attacked the loose balls but didn't play anything silly, really. :cool;

y'know, if Fleming and Bell are still there at Tea, I honestly am going to start worrying that NZ might be in with a chance of saving this game.
Yeah, I am TBH. Can see this going pear-shaped. And can see the usual wise-guy ****s saying Vaughan should've declared earlier and that would of course have made all the difference. 8-) Had he declared earlier I'd be starting to worry about us losing now.

Great, refreshing, reassuring session.

We just have to keep on like this.

Has Bell booked a ticket for England (that's Matthew b.t.w)??

Here I think (not including Fleming's 2 Tests later as he's a makeshift opener, Richardson merely a manufactured one - Fleming never opened reguarly).

Could somebody tell me what the hell Vaughan was doing this morning? no team has chased more than just over 400. He effectively gave NZ a headstart. I don't rate his captaincy at all.

anyhow, England still in the box seat by some distance but NZ are at least hanging in there.

Interesting to see the NZ commentary teams squad to England..it includes Greg Todd, Greg Hay, Martin Guptill and Tim Southee. thoughts?
They didn't include Bell, but they made their selections before his innings today.

Off the top of my head it was:

How, Guptill, Todd, Fulton, Taylor, Hay, Oram, McCullum, Vettori, Southee, Mills, Patel, Martin, Mason. I can't remember if Elliott was included or not.
