**Official** England in New Zealand

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Ian Smith making a good point how Vaughan won't be able to get the new ball today.

Yet another delicious four by Fleming. This will go down as one of my favourite innings, ever.

Flem's got the magic 54, so happy for him, he'll be averaging over 40 which he richly deserves. If he can get that 10th century and save New Zealand., will be the perfect goodbye for him. Matthew Bell also playing his heart out for his career, much as Strauss did. Nice to see this. And as I type, Fleming cracks another 4 through backward point, awesome stuff to watch.

wow... can NZ win? England need a wicket bad...could get dangerous
About a 2 or 3% chance IMO. Draw is looking very possible though.

Not sure if we even deserve a draw after our first innings effort. Feels unfair.

If he does it, he'll equal Rodney Redmond in century-in-last-Test stakes.
Last person to score a century in their Test innings against a Test-standard team was Nasser Hussain against... New Zealand. Before that it was Murray Goodwin against... England. Then Greg Chappell (I refuse to count Azharuddin as he was a match-fixer and only got one in his last Test because he was found-out :@) against Pakistan.

Actually, sorry, Redmund's century was in his penultimate (and 1st) Test innings. In his last (and 2nd) he made a mere half-century.

There were a 2 South Africans due to the ban, and no-one else has done it since the turn of the 1970s.

410 runs in 120 overs.. possible.. but probably pushing it (The RR, unless McCullum does well)

you know recently there have been chases for the team batting last set to around 500... and a few times they have come close (cbs labelling em but in general i think there has been) i think that might be coz of the flat nature of pitches or poor bowling attack..

but yea i was thinking the other day, that some team will break the record for highest run chase very soon in the future.. and im pretty sure this pitch is very flat and would be one of the better 5th day pitches

imagine if these two bat till stumps lol.... 320 runs on the last day with 9 wickets in hand probably

That would be an excellent day tomorrow. Though I'm rooting for England so I'd love to see that situation with NZ falling just short. With that said, I really like Fleming, so I wouldn't be upset if NZ won it either.

Broad wasting his energy bowling short AGAIN. 8-) That's a height wide and a height no-ball in the same over, and a warning for excessive short-pitched bowling, not seen that for a loooooong time.
