every time a team is beaten someof its players and supporters will get a little anoyed with the team that beat them, now can you just imagine how many people have become anoyed with australia over the years ?
Yes, but only if teams complain AFTER they've beaten Australia will broader public opinion regard it as anything other than veiled sour grapes. Until then, the trend should unfortunately continue.

Um:
Mills said that Bond's contract with NZC allowed him to play for third parties when his NZC commitments allowed, and that there were no restrictions on what events he could participate in. "Three months ago Bond sought and was granted consent by NZC to sign with the Indian Cricket League (ICL) in line with his playing contract," Mills said. "Further to that Bond ensured his ICL contract released him for international duties if required.

"In this way his ICL contract did not affect his ability to play for New Zealand or impact on international cricket. NZC has become increasingly concerned at the implications should they select Bond, or any other player, to represent New Zealand if they are contracted to the ICL. These concerns principally relate to NZC's relationship with the Indian board (BCCI) and perceived risks to future revenue streams should the BCCI take a stand against NZC given the ICL is not sanctioned by that organisation."

ICL's contract allows him to play for New Zealand at any time. It's New Zealand cricket board that's acting like petulant children. Bond's contract specifically states that he will be released to play for his country....

Bond is available, its NZ cricket board that doesn't want him.

What, so they won't play their best bowler and last hope of Test-respectability to avoid a potential skirmish with the BCCI?

Despicable. Though it's understandable considering the recent symptoms of the BCCI throwing their weight around.

No one is exonerating the BCCI here, everyone knows they pushed for this. That doesn't make NZ cricket board any less guilty for acquiescing to their demands.

Agree. How can the ICL be accountable for Bond being a sell out?
How is Bond being a sell out? Put yourself in his situation. He gets injured a crap load. He gets paid plenty of money in IPL and even gets paid for when he's not playing. I know I'd think long and hard about the contract.

It's not like he's a young cricket with his whole career in front of him. Bond has served N.Z. cricket very well.

Agree with you, as per Voltman's post in Bond's retirement thread:

Voltman said:
Surprised more hasn't been mentioned on here today in light of radio interviews over the last 24 hours.

What has come out - and was a common answer in both interviews (one with Vaughan and one with Bond - is that Bond signed a contract with the ICL in August AFTER asking NZC if he was able to sign with ICL and still play for NZ.

Remarkably, NZ Cricket agreed to this as they believed there was nothing in the contract to prevent Bond from doing so. Six weeks later, after another check of the contract, a clause which required any tournaments to be sanctioned by the ICC was discovered in the small print. How that was missed in the first place, I do not know.

When Bond returned from South Africa, he had already decided to give away tests - having worked out most of his major injuries had come in that form of the game.

Of course, once this extra clause was discovered, that's when the problem had started. And this is why the discussions have been going on so long. By all accounts, Bond would have a very good case if he chose to go down the legal route, but he has opted to keep it out of the courts, as he has respect for the NZ Cricket organisation.

Basically, it sounds like a major, major ****-up from NZ Cricket. Unbelievable that their contracts weren't studied closer as soon as the ICL came to light.
That said, ****-ups aside, NZC is locked in by their contract and to do anything else would make them even more liable than they already are.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have done it, I'm just saying he is a sell out. Which he is.

poor black caps :( ......lol

just a question, but do New Zealand have any fast bowlers left?
what are they gonna do without Bond, and Oram getting on a bit now, whats their next move open with medium pacers? lol it will be a flashback to the 1860's
any kiwi fans who can let us know who the next to come on the scene will be, please inlighten us, coz if your all worried about an old broken down horse like Bond you have serious issues. if he was an aussie he would have been shot and sent out to the glue factory years ago....! let the indians waste money on a liability.

good luck black caps

harbhajan is guilty

harbhajan's charge of racism wasn't dismissed it was downgraded to verbal abuse. which he pleaded quilty to. there fore all that bull**** about not calling andrew symonds a monkey was all crap. and infact called him just that. the reason why he wasnt charged for racism was because the judge has pressure from all angles of cricket. he was forced to downgrade the charge to allow harbhajan to keep playing. he made the argument calling a bloke a monkey isnt a racial slur, it falls under the verbal abuse act.
harbhajan didnt contest the charge, he challanged the sentence, (being suspended).
now he is fined 50 grand and the game goes on,
now i dont care that harbhajan isnt suspended, or that the case of racial abuse was dropped, i just dont like the fact that after the sydney test when asked about the incident, he faced the media and told the world he didnt call symonds a monkey, and he was unjustly a victim in the whole affair, when infact he did call symonds a monkey. he lied to the public and in my eyes owes the wider public an appology.

oh no doubt, i always injoy going out and whatching the black caps, when they are here in oz, but the fact remains, there just isnt any cattle in there stocks....

they can still put up a great contest in one dayers, but over the 5 day game they are being left behind. i think india taking a few corpses from your stocks are the leased of your worries.

A broken down horse averaging 19 ? Yes we have a right to be worried.

There are young quicks like Tim Southee, Te Ahu Davis and Trent Boult, coming through the ranks but they are all a few years off the big time yet.

Congratulations australia on winning the series 2(1?)-1.A lots of positives to have come out of india.
1. Bowling attack looks promising, as long as they dont break down with injuries.
2. Sehwag back in test side and making runs plenty along with Tendulkar.
Negatives.
1. Yuvraj screwing up indias chances in the first two tests with his poor test batting skills.
2. Dhoni still unable to prove at test level beyond subcontinental pitches.
3. Dravid still struggling with his form.
Luckily, kumble was willing to accept captaincy and do it
Otherwise we would have seen Dhoni captaining this test team. Luckily it did not happen.
For australia lots of positives too. Hayden and symonds? great form with the bat and lee with the ball.
Negatives-Test career end for brad hogg and a short break for tait too.
Overall a very good series and happy with the way india responded after sydney fiasco.Bring it on more.

This is India at its most powerful - Crickets redemption

An embarrasing day for Aussie cricket, but justice is served I guess.
While everyone shakes their head in disgust at the injustice of cricket’s day of shame,
Singh was able to get off a racial abuse charge, while the integrity of Symonds' original evidence and that of referee Proctor were questioned.

To me, the most interesting point to come out of yesterdays court drama was that India contribute 75 per cent of the ICC’s revenues... This is India at its most powerful. This is India wielding total control.

Ironic, you say they wield total control yet link to an article where it says BCCI didn't. :p
