To be honest ,most of those matches against are against pakistan on conditions where after the new ball you can take a tonking as a pacer.
As for the minnow bashing is concerned A)His average is astounding against them.B)he has only played four matches against zimbabve and bagladesh.c)Somebody has two take the wickets against minnows too,you cannot just stand and wait.

Regardless of the stats, Pathan has bowled extremely well in this tour. Hope this is start of a second coming for him.

Indeed, his record against Test-class opposition is pretty good though.
My point was not that lee is not a good bowler.I was trying to show that minnow nations should not be taken for granted as top class bowlers can struggle against them.

Yeah, it happens, but what usually happens is that teams and players dominate against these minnow nations, thus (sometimes vastly) improving their career records.

He is a better bowler, a better cricketer actually, than his figures suggest. In any case, as watching Sharma should prove, his average after this series will in no way indicate how well he has bowled.

Pathan IMO is going to be a pretty decent cricketer for India IF they don't play him as an opener.
He's probably lost that yard of pace that he had when he burst on the scene as a 19 year old and he's slowly rediscovering that banana swing of yesteryear.
But I think his accuracy is much better now.....

I think technically he is avery good batsman capable of averaging 30+ maybe even 35 if he works hard enough.
He was never going to be as good a bowler as Wasim Akram which was the hype when he first came on the scene But IMO he has the tools to be as good as Kapil Dev.

What is wrong with turners? I seriously want to know, because I have no idea why people call that a bad pitch. There is nothing wrong with a raging turner, and nothing wrong with a raging seamer's paradise.
Nothing wrong with them per se, I was responding to the suggestin taht Adelaide, after about 100 years of test cricket on a pitch that's always bveen a road, was deliberately prepared that way to help Australia maintain their lead.
To those who doubt it, trust me - it's never been done here. God, I remember when the Windies were dominant - they'd tour here, and we'd take them to teh Gabba 1st when it was a green top, then to the WACA second. We were 2-0 down after a combined 4 and a 1/2 days!!

Could be a very costly drop from Clarke, two down would have been perfect. Was an amazing 40 or so minutes of cricket when the Indians came out to bat a second time. Really changed the whole dynamic of a rather dull match at times. Agree with Chappell (I think it was) that whilst opening with Pathan in general is arguable, but to send him in after two days of bowling is unacceptable. Should have opened with Dravid or whoever.

You would be correct.

FFS Clarke, should never field in the slips again.
FFS, I hate it when people(selectors/ponting) whoever they are try to make someone something they are not. Clarke is terrible in the slips and should not be there.

How many has he dropped this series now ??

He's dropped at least 3 in the slips. Even if they do think he's a better slipper than Hussey, I'd give Hussey the job there tomorrow and let Hogg/Clarke patrol gully/point

Australia really lacking a good cordon atm, compared at the start of the decade when they had the likes of Mark Waugh, Warne, Hayden with Ponting, S Waugh as backups...

Nowdays the only outstanding slipper is Hayden, while Ponting is merely average or just above. While Clarke and the rest are poor...I know he had an ankle twinge but it was still a very sorry sight to see Symonds in the cordon at times this summer.
