With the LBWS having umpired I can understand that there are times where it's hard to know the exact height of a ball and an LBW decision just going over the stumps like Hussey is understandable that an umpire would give it out.

I just don't understand how Cricket Umpires don't realize a batsmen has hit the ball. I know in the Cricket I've umpired the bowlers have been slower and the game is slightly less important, but still I can't believe it.

Umpires should go back to the olden days and stay further from the stumps, cause they are spending too much time looking to see if the bowler has bowled a no ball.
Are they still mic'd up these days? If they are there shouldn't be an excuse.

At a vital time I meant. Not getting Symo at 6/180 or whatever it was isn't a vital time at the match.

The Dravid one was at a vital time and the Indians went nuts. We've had 2 at a very vital time.
Dravid one was pretty vital,so was ganguly's.
You seem to have forgotten how ponting was out a couple of times in the morning session.
AtleasT these umpires have evened it out unlike bucknor and benson.
Now hopefully a wrong decision by the third umpire.

There is a difference between a bad decision and a shocker. Symond's wicket today was a bad decision but it looked pretty out in real time. By contrast his let-off at Sydney was an absolute shocker. No comparison at all really. This test has been a pretty normal one with bad decisions going both ways. Again no comparison to Sydney.

It wasn't as obvious as you say it was. It was a ridiculously late edge too.
But when there's a noise as a ball goes past bat & glove close together in Sydney with the keeper up, it's a disgrace to appeal?

That's the point really, isn't it? You reckon Kumble didn't know Symonds hit that, yet you say with confidence the fielders must have known Dravid didn't hit his. Would be hilarious to hear a "it wasn't in the spirit" comment post-game tbh.

Kumble bowling so well here though, and how good was Sharma this morning? What a top spell from a rookie bowler. Great stuff.

Sucks that this thread has got all negative again. This is really good test cricket. Clarke is working really hard out there and is doing a great job, but the Indians are also doing really well in keeping up the pressure.

If, as seems inevitable now, India wins this game, it makes the Adelaide test very very interesting - something we've not said about the last test in a series since the last time India were here.

I do not think kumble had a problem with that appeal.
The grounded catches which were claimed were that really irked him and the leaving of"what happens on field stays there attitude"which really irked them.
To top it all symonds and ponting not walking, and then symonds admitting it while ponting moaning like a baby when given out after getting a bonus of about 50 runs..

Use technology. Certainly no-balls may be easy to pick, and if LBW's went to 3rd umpire , these edges should be reasonably picked up in reply (some cause for skepticism of things like Haweye for trajectory of ball for LBW, but not this).

Sucks to see wrong decisions given but I have no real sympathy for the Aussies. Rauf gave 2 of our key batsmen lbws in the exact same manner as Hussey's. And Symonds...do I even need to say anything?

Agreed, has been a brilliant match and a really good series. Victory for India is not inevitable yet, although it will be when Gilchrist or Clarke gets out.
