Very difficult for a left arm bowler to bowl "stump to stump" to RH batsmen as effectively as a right hand bowler. Unless you bowl a jaffa like Zaheer to Ponting. But unlikely to bring LBW into play, have to rely on rattling the stumps.
Ya, wont be a line Johnson can adopt. Certainly would be the strategy for Lee and Clark. The left armers would have to look at bowling a tigher line than they normally would in a test though.

To be honest, Harbhajan wasn't really talking about himself :p. And the top order did pretty much cart him around.
Still pretty funny. If I were Hogg, I'd have delighted in taking that wicket. India just doesn't seem very good at the whole trash talk thing.

Just watching the highlights on Sky. Very, very good new-ball bowling from Johnson & especially Lee first up.

Was Dravid's innings the worst 5 ever? Dropped by Jaques, caught off a no-ball and took 66 balls to score. Think it's fair to say he hasn't quite madw the mental adjustment to become an opener yet.

Yep absolutely agree.

Dravid looked like a very bad cricketer which is shame for a player with a record as good as his.

Australia's number 11 batsmen Stuart Clark looked more comfortable at the crease then the Indian opener Dravid. :)

Dravid this year has looked like a shell of his former self. Not a single good score against a non minnow and it's amazing to see a batsman who has had his level of success to continue looking so confused at the crease. This entire year starting with the SA tour he's either batted painfully slow or too attacking. I don't know what exactly he was trying to accomplish yesterday leaving short wide balls and defending overpitched deliveries. Talk about a negative mindset! The purpose of a batsman is to score...something Dravid seems to forget way too often. Even more so than the Australian bowling I'd say he was the biggest culprit behind India's poor batting display yesterday. 31 runs after an entire session of play is inexcusable and is putting way too much pressure on the incoming batsmen.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Dravid gets dropped during this series if his poor form continues.

Twice, unprovoked, I was called an idiot. If people aren't willing to cop it, they shouldn't be so eager to dish it out. It makes them look like McGrath.
Recall both instances, neither were "unprovoked", nor for that matter off the mark.

Doubt if any resident of Australia, India or this forum is going to lose sleep over your
fascism allegations. Do you know what that word even means (it's when you arrest, assasinate and intimidate your opposition with bodily harm). All 3 of these entities are
noisy democracies (or quasi-democracies), though the forum has almost no need to be.

So keep dishing it, buddy.

I think its again a big fault not to get Sehwag in... India will know after they lose this test
The Sehwag who can't buy a run in domestic cricket and has been woefully out of depth at international level for some time?

The logic behind that move seems the same as West Indies recalling Dwayne Smith for the South Africa Tests.

He's been struggling to get himself back into his runscoring form as it is, let alone having to open the batting whilst doing so. Very harsh move and I think a captain with better foresight would not support it. Dravid is seen as a vital batsman who can't be left out, and he is (and can't be) when he's playing well, but if you're going to accommodate him in the side then you need to do so in a manner that he can perform. Yuvraj should not have played this game.

The only Indian batsman I have confidence in is Dravid - he's my bet to score the most runs this series because:

a. He's a great player; and

b. India will get nearly double the amount of innings

Unfortunately, I see it as being totally one way traffic.

Best one is the rain one when Hayden gives it to Clarkey. Genuine lol everytime I see it.

Hahaha!

Thanks for posting those. You are right. The first one is the best and genuine lol from me too, everytime I see it, especially when Clarke goes "I'm going to Bill's"

It's hard for a pair of batsmen to go after him when none of them seem to know what he's doing. so far in this game he's bowled short of a length and moved it away before darting one back in occasionally (he did this on both LBW's). In conditions where he's doing nothing with the ball then maybe. But he's a bit like McGrath, even on wickets that don't offer a lot of help he usually moves it around even if its by the smallest amount.

Yes, I know. The length he was bowling yesterday was very good, especially when coupled with the variable bounch and his little in-darters.

I just wonder (like some of the 9 commentators have said) why the batsmen did not bat a little out of their crease to him. He bowls 130kph range, so it should not be all that difficult to do for good test bats (and might have negated some of the advantage gained from that length and movement inward). On a slow and low wicket like this, the bounce his height gives him should not be all that much of a factor either. But as I said, its easy for me to make these comments from comfort of my couch.

Git. :p

It's such a bittersweet experience watching Australia. Like viewing a grimly efficient genocide; you know the end result is bad for humanity, but you can't help but admire its effectiveness.

Ponting should grow a moustache to twirl tho IMHO.

(Wales isn't really a country and it's probably football there now anyway)
Random Welsh knocking: never a bad thing. & very true too; Wales is a principality of the kingdom of England. So I suppose we should apologise for the male voice choirs & Harry Secombe. Sorry.

Was a beaut, yup. He's improved so much recently. Really stepped up to become the spearhead.
