Even though I know you wanted Shah in the team, how do you think Rav B went?
Looked out of his depth for mine.
Is interesting, he looked OK in the second-innings, and I only saw 1 ball of his innings in the first- - the dismissal, which is one of those inconclusive ones, anyone can get caught down the leg-side. But never really made me think he looked to have a hint of perminance.

Would still far prefer Shah for the next game, but equally that, once you've picked Bopara once, would be exceedingly harsh. Only really fair to give him the rest of the series now.

u know whats interesting

if umpire offer bad light.... and Bell and Prior are still there... they could play on and go for the win... but if they lose wickets in search for runs... they can call it off and it will be a draw (say 9 wickets down)

But it'll now require something awful probably beyond the bounds of even an English tail to lose it.

Who would ever have thought this after the morning session?

So how many more overs are we likely to see now? IIRC they came off for bad light with 18 overs unbowled yesterday, so we must be close to calling it a day if the batsmen take the offer.

Prior gone, but unquestionably his finest test innings - some substance to go with the bs for once. Quite a delivery if cricinfo are to be believed.

Nah, over-rates have been much quicker today (I wonder why...) and there's still some decent sunshine.

Will take quite a collapse to lose it from here nonetheless. If I were an eternal pessimist I'd be worried, but I'm not - yet. Will be if Sidebottom goes very quickly though.

Presumably Bell will try to stay at MM's end.

Well he tried, but Murali was too good for him, as he was for Collingwood and Prior.

So, it's down to these 4 number-elevens to save the game as with Galle last time.

Bad light will save England IMO and hopefully the crowd throws the leftovers of the roof on the umpires. Would be funny.

OK, now we're in trouble. Again sounds like a cracker from MM. I can't see I've seen a spinner clean up with the new ball very often, but I suppose he isn't your run-of-the-mill spinner.

No matter what happens, what a great innings from Prior and Bell. Real show of guts and determination and showed the more high profile England batsmen how they should have played.
