48.1 1 Jongikhaya to Fordham
Short and quick, angled down to third man for a single. Fordham didn't pick that one, but played it very well.

Dont give the tailender the strike you tard!

Fordham should of listened to me!

48.2 W Jongikhaya to Hawes
Great delivery from Jongikhaya, Hawes has a dash at it and finds the edge. Dropped at first slip! No! Yes! No! Bridges m looked to have spilled the catch, but his quick reflexes allowed him to recover and he gobbled up the crumbs after some fumbles. Out!

And that's the end of the match. yorkshire sixhitters won by 11 runs.
yorkshire sixhitters 200-10
BEST Indies 189-10

Closest BT game iv ever had well played indeed yorkshire sixhitters.

After today I am going to rename Bissmire, Bridges m and Muldowney 'The Fire Brigade', its not the first time these guys have batted us out of a hole.

Well played BEST Indies hope you will get that first win soon, BTW Scaly's reserves wouldn't scare most VI teams so if you are lucky....

Group A:

Male Models 192 ao (40.2) lost to Viveash 343/6 (50) by 151 runs
Boggles 30/0 (3.4) beat Leverock CC 27 ao (12.5) by ten wickets

Code:
Boggles 2-0 156 23.2 152 100 +5.17 4
Viveash 1-1 468 100 318 68.4 +0.05 2
Male Models 1-1 303 70 452 100 -0.19 2
Leverock 0-2 136 100 141 23.4 -4.60 0
Boggles qualify with a win over Male Models.
Viveash qualify with a sufficiently large win over Leverock CC - depending on Boggles' margin of victory, but assuming a close game it will have to be in the region of 350 runs, and Viveash will have to bat first.
Male Models qualify with a sufficiently large win over Boggles - though that translates to either chasing 65 in eight overs or a win by 200 runs, without Viveash simultaneously winning by 160+ runs.

Group B

Tawonga Tigers 43/0 (7.3) beat Oceans XI 39 ao (15.5) by ten wickets
Cymru Gurgitaters 21/0 (1.5) beat Fishs XI 19 ao (25.1) by ten wickets

Code:
Cymru 2-0 91 12.1 88 100 +6.60 4
Tawonga 2-0 379 57.3 86 100 +5.73 4
Oceans XI 0-2 108 100 113 17.5 -5.26 0
Fishs XI 0-2 66 100 357 51.5 -6.23 0
Cymru and Tawonga play off for the final spot. In case of a tie, Cymru qualify if the teams score more than 306 runs each, otherwise Tawonga qualify.

Group C:

oz fans XI 52 ao (15.2) lost to Magical Ponies 53/1 (7.1) by nine wickets
Withington Wonderers 127/1 (26.3) beat Alternative XI 126 ao (40.2) by nine wickets

Code:
Ponies 2-0 212 42 210 100 +2.95 4
Alternative 1-1 524 100 176 76.3 +2.94 2
Withington 1-1 285 76.3 285 84.5 +0.37 2
oz fans XI 0-1 49 50 398 50 -6.98 0
Magical Ponies qualify with a win.

Alternative XI may qualify with a nine-run win or a chase in 47 overs, unless Withington Wonderers come up with a victory by more than 225 runs over oz fans XI. Chasing down a target will make it impossible to pass both teams.

Group D:

BEST Indies 189 ao (48.2) lost to yorkshire sixhitters 200 ao (46.3) by 11 runs
Scaly Piscine CC 101/0 (17.4) beat Dalmeny Cricket Club 100 ao (31.4) by ten wickets

Code:
Scaly Piscine2-0 198 33 196 100 +4.04 4
Dalmeny 1-1 213 68.1 213 67.4 -0.02 2
Sixhitters 1-1 296 100 286 65.2 -1.42 2
BEST Indies 0-2 301 100 313 68.1 -1.58 0
Scaly Piscine CC qualify in pretty much any situation, though with a 200-run defeat they could be in trouble even if Dalmeny only manage a small win. Dalmeny Cricket Club will have to win by a huge margin (the least optimistic calculation suggests 300 runs), yorkshire sixhitters by a even huger (450 runs in the least optimistic situation).

Group E:

Jaffna Jets 141/3 (33) beat Whenuapai CC 140 ao (34.3) by seven wickets
Dynamo Morpork 239/1 (35.4) beat Kipper XI 238/4 (50) by nine wickets

Code:
Jaffna 2-0 347 69.1 342 100 +1.60 4
Morpork 1-1 441 85.4 444 86.1 -0.00 2
Whenuapai 0-1 140 50 141 33 -1.47 1
Kipper XI 0-1 238 50 239 35.4 -1.94 1
Jaffna qualify with a win over Kipper XI

Dynamo Morpork are the only team with a theoretical chance, but need a win in the region of 150 runs or a chase of 180 in 28 overs to qualify, as well as Jaffna losing.

Group F:

Victoria Panthers 34/0 (8.1) beat caves_beachcc 32 ao (11.4) by ten wickets
Asterix XI 317/2 (50) beat Opening Balance 11 ao (6) by 306 runs

Code:
Asterix 2-0 504 79.3 196 56 +2.84 4
Victoria 1-1 319 58.1 327 100 +2.21 2
Opening Bal 1-1 306 100 602 100 -2.96 2
caves_beach 0-2 217 100 221 37.4 -3.70 0
Asterix XI qualify due to the forfeit. If Victoria Panthers manage to arrange the game, a 20-run win or a chase of 250 in 47 overs would be enough to qualify.

Group G:

Four Pillars and Poor Fillers 142/1 (19.3) beat Brackenhurst 141 ao (38) by nine wickets
Saggers Mob 292 ao (49.4) beat Tamil Eelam CC 287 ao (48.6) by five runs

Code:
Four Pillars 2-0 518 69.3 293 100 +4.52 4
Saggers Mob 1-1 618 100 614 98.2 -0.06 2
Brackenhurst 1-1 468 98.2 468 69.3 -1.97 2
Tamil Eelam 0-2 439 100 668 100 -2.29 0
Four Pillars and Poor Fillers are essentially qualified. Saggers Mob need to beat them by about 200 runs to qualify, while Brackenhurst need a 320-run win to reach the heights of those two sides' NRR.

Group H:

Clutha Valley CC vs Central Districts - walkover
Jamees 999ers 261/9 (50) beat Beard XI 170 ao (40) by 91 runs

Code:
Central D 2-0 274 50 220 50 +1.08 4
999ers 1-1 481 100 444 100 +0.37 2
Beard 1-1 374 91 464 100 -0.53 2
Clutha Val 0-2 203 50 204 41 -0.92 0
Beard XI can pass Central Districts with a 55-run win, though in that case Jamees 999ers would probably go through due to a superior net run rate to both. If Central Districts lose by a small margin Jamees 999ers will qualify with a 45-run win; they also need to keep their win margin within about 80 runs of Beard XI's eventual victory.

Well, I think it's safe to say that while I'm not exactly surprised by the result, given how we were going early doors I'm a little bit disappointed not to have made a better fist of things. In particular Oleary's almost total disappearance made the difference between a competitive total to chase and the unlikely target we ended up with. Still; pleased to have restricted Bardle to a mere two wickets, and I don't feel the final result was embarrassing. Well played to Jamee - but we'll 'ave you next time... :D

(yes, I'm calling it. boo-hoo if I do lose to Beard XI)
Bring it, yer ****y bugger. :)

(yeah, I don't see it either)

Yeah, let's just win Sunday. :)
