For all the criticism of Younis, he is, by far, Pakistan's best player.

I'm so sick of reading praise for guys that do it easy on flat tracks - YK has the best technique and does it under pressure

BTW I disagree with the notion that this game proves we need 5 regular bowlers. Ganguly did fine as the fifth bowler and his run-rate was lower than the RRR when he was bowling IIRC.

The problem lies firmly with Pathan,Zaheer and RP in the last 10 overs. They were bowling like they were possessed by the ghost of Ajit Agarkar.

He is still alive, you know.

I have a relevant blog entry relating to the up-for-grabs third seamer role in ODIs, check it out here

Moderators, if the advertising of my blog is getting too much, just let me know please.

^ Lol, I was going to post something similar.

Even before Harbhajan got Yousuf stumped it looked as if this game was dead. Not sure what's going on with Pakistani cricket at the minute, but its not going so well.
Haha, made me look like an idiot Younis.

Good stuff Pakistan.

Easily best ever Odi knock for Younis, he is probably after Zaheer the 2nd most prolific bat for Pakistan against India.

So many dropped chances. These first two games may have been close but they were certainly not of high quality. Disappointing.

Apparently Dhoni blew an easy chance off Younis early on. How bad was it?

maybe cos they rather speak their own language,
they dont suck up to others by trying to speak english

ever seen any football players go out of their way to learn english?

Hahaha.

I have to say though, things seem pretty directionless right now where Pakistan cricket is concerned. The fielding has never been great but it has been pathetic this series. The players haven't looked match fit. They seem out of it totally - just look at the wides column - 31. An inspirational victory here but the team needs to improve a lot on a lot of levels.
UGOLAS.

Got it up to 150 that lad. Has got a real future for Pakistan, if he can keep working on his accuracy.

India tries very hard to hide the 5th/6th part timer. Runs are not scored particularly quickly in this period, but are done so easily and safely. Pakistan were looking to build for the last 15 overs, and were able to do so through the release of pressure with the bowling of Ganguly.

Dude, he was trying to speak in English. It doesn't matter what language they speak, they never complete one sentence before starting another.

Oh and I wish they spoke in Urdu or the language they are comfortable in, at least it would have made some sense.

Great win by Pakistan, Younis Khan is a really good ODI player despite the fact a lot of people don't think so. His ODI average by the end of his career will certainly be around 38-40 mark.

For India, they have to play 5 bowlers.Ganguly didn't bowl well. It looks as if he did only because the regular bowlers went for more. Maybe another specialist bowler may have only conceded around 40 runs instead of 55 and taken a wicket or two, similar to what Shoaib did and took 3 wickets when everyone else was going for runs. But then again, it's quality and not quantity.

Imagine if Tendulkar had got to his 100.Another 2 years later, some "expert" would use this match as another example of Tendulkar not scoring runs in a winning cause etc..
