***Official*** Australia in India

Why shouldn't we? This game means nothing really. India failed to play when the series meant something and should be heavily criticised for doing so.
And Australia should be equally criticized for not playing well enough when the series meant nothing, it is akin to throwing matches.

May be ICC should investigate too if Australian players have been using dead rubber games to pay their mortgage. ;)

No reason - maybe a little predictable though. :p In any case, Kartik certainly didn't deserve to finish on the losing side after that performance; maybe he should've been in there from the start.

You reckon Australia didn't play well enough today?

Shows how much you know about cricket then doesn't it?

Luck got India over the line today. Luck is always a massive factor in matches as close as these, and it was definitely on India's side today. Clarke given out dubiously first ball for 0, Hogg given out for 0 when the ball wasn't anywhere near the bat. Karthik given not out after edging it. You'd be a fool to not admit that luck wasn't on India's side today.

Also hope Harbajhan is reprimanded for the way he acted towards Khan after he took his catch too BTW.

Don't know if I'd go that far. I'd say that Australia should be criticized for not finishing the game off, and whether or not it were a dead rubber, they should have won from there. Of course, any sort of lessening in intensity for a dead rubber also lets bad habits slip seamlessly into a side.

I do agree that the 7 game series are a bit too much. However, it's probably something that Australia may have to do over the next few years, if it is going to continue to have the triangular tournament at home.

We should blame that stupid Sreesanth for the series loss because if he had not dropped Symonds on 2 in the Nagpur ODI India would have easily won the match.

Kick that big mouthed jerk out of the team.

Hahahahahahah! What a hilarious victory.

Couple of things:

Suck **** to all those Indians that left the stadium when 5 or 6 wickets fell.

Its about time people learn not to sledge, or just generally piss off Zaheer Khan. Brett Lee sure learnt his lesson, just like the English did. What a six that was! :D

Sorry, I was not being serious but just trying to post a TiC response to Sideshowtim.

Anyway, well done to Aus. A thoroughly dominated and deserved series victory. Were always the better team, as expected and deliviered. Well done.

India will have to do some soul searching after this series, particularly amongst their top order.

Yeah, that was pretty fickle by the Indian fans. Makes me mad to see that. The thing is that it'll be these dumb idiots celebrating and dancing in the streets despite abandoning all hope for their team and leaving the stadium. Those people don't really deserve to celebrate.

True, as far as I'm concerned they're in the same boat as the footy fans who leave at 3/4 time when their footy team is losing.

Sport is a weird thing, anything can happen at any stage.

Anyone remember those fans that left during the India vs. England Nat West Series final after Tendulkar got out? India were 5/150 chasing 310-320, and even with Yuvraj and Kaif at the crease (fair enough they were noobs then) they walked out.

Sucks to be them, just like it sucks to be the ones that left tonight. Missed a pretty cool match.

Huge generalisation and unwarranted imo.

Great series really. Lots of good close cricket and Indian aggression. 20/20 time. :spew:

Thread is dying...

Nightprowler? SJS? Turd?!

Haha, will laugh if Jono went to bed.
Posted just as you did man ;)

I've barely had a chance to watch any of this series since I've been living at uni past few weeks, so if the cricket is on, I'll watch it, even if India are 66/5.
