Once again, weak. Gotta keep the rivalry going.
There are much more important things at stake than a sporting rivalry. Unfortunately the sporting rivalry had fanned the other flames in the past. We cant go back to that. Nothing is worth that.

You have to talk to the Indians who have visited Pakistan and the Pakistani's who have visited India to really understand that. These people have bben touched beyond their wildest imaginations. Many of them cant believe the idiocy that kept us from fraternising in the past.

I have many family members and friends in this category and they are unanimous in this.

I know the cricketing rivalry was 'fun' but the rest of the jingoism and the flames it fanned wasn't. I think the rivalry will still remain and does but at a much more mature level. I was absolutely delighted to see Afridi and Harbhajan embrace so warmly after the T20 finals. Thats what matters.

NZ hates Australia,
Australia hates England,
everyone hates South Africa

Still plenty of little rivalry's ;)
NZ is fostering a rivalry with Sri Lanka, and I doubt Pakistan vs India will ever be a 'cool' affair, just a little more acceptance in the lack of actual 'hatred' and more, 'lets just beat these guys'.

Nothing gets me going like the rivalry between Bangladesh and Australia though, always grand.

Screw all that, I'd have killed a couple of spectators at the final after the loss.

But u are supporting India big time..... so we should be allowed to support pakistan as well :)
Oh he is being playful (as you probably realise) its I who is more serious and thats because I am from the generation that has first heard the horror stories, then been subject to the hate propaganda from both sides and been lucky enough to survive with my sanity intact. I consider this issue too big and too recent to take it with frivolity but I can understand the youngergeneration being more lighthearted about it. :)

I think a big 'rivalry' that has developed in cricket is between India and Australia. India havent been good enough to get the better of the Aussies as often as they would have liked but its still been fun and soething to really look forward to.

I only hope the next generation of players from India are good enough to maintain the standards of these contests if not take them higher.

In the end, all you're left with though is a post full of speculation.

Nothing to speculate.....

if u have the game recorded..or any body else is having just watch 2 minutes play from ball 25.4 onwards..and still u feels the same ...i cannot do anything....

And if Symonds were to be asked about this event, he might do a Sreesanth and claim that he was merely suggesting to the batsman that no matter how many of those shots he played, his team would still lose - all very friendly and innocent really

You don't know one word of what he said. Except probably an f-bomb amongst it somewhere, it's pretty easy to lip read that one.

Well this (Indo-Pak relations) is not a subject I ever mess with.

It has been messed up enough by our fathers and grandfathers.
If there is one thing in the whole world that is closer to my heart than the game fo cricket or anything else it is Indo-Pak relations and Hindu-Muslim relations.

Which is all fine and well in real life, but this is the internet, no need to take it so seriously.

I understand that but you must realise where it started - with a poster saying he hates India/Indians/Indian cricketers (words to thateffect- not in a post but as his signature.

I am afraid i do take that seriously. The rest has just followed from that.

I have been watching and hearing India and Pak baiting on CW for long and rarely if ever intervene.

This was something that affected me hence the response.

If people can take a mere cricket match so seriously "on the internet" why cant I take this ? :)
