Nope (the closest is Jacob Or...) Was more concerned with Pollock being implied as worse than him though. Surely plenty of Ps to pick from? You got a better middle order batsman starting with O?
Abdul Qadir as night watchmanNext team:
Lawry
Morris
Nourse
O'Neill
Pollock
Q... got nothing frankly
Russell
Statham
Trueman
Underwood

Number 5 isn't necessarily a worse batsman than number 4 - I didn't interpret SJS' guidelines that strictly. Atherton and Boycott aren't better than Compton either for example.Nope (the closest is Jacob Or...) Was more concerned with Pollock being implied as worse than him though. Bart KIng ? Great bowler, Far too good a batsman to bat at number 11.Atherton
Boycott (going ok so far...)
Compton
Dexter
Edrich (he played a proportion of his innings in the middle order)
Faulkner
Gilchrist
Hadlee
Illingworth
Jones, Simon
King, Bart
Iverson?The I's
- Imran Farhat
- Imran Nazir
- Inzamam-ul-Haq
- Irvine, Brian
- Ijaz Ahmed
- Imran Khan
- Imtiaz Ahmed
- Intikhab Alam
- Illingworth, Ray
- Iqbal Qasim
- Ironside, David
I would have gone with
- Dravid at 4,
- Bill Edrich (not John) at 5,
- Ironmonger (74 wkts in just 14 tests at under a8 each) instead of Illingworth at 9,
- Ernest Jones (not Simon) as the super fast bowler at 10 and
- a third spinner (after Faulkner and Illingworth) in Kumble at number 11.
Yes you could do that. What this side really needs is another good new ball bowler to go with Imran. With Illingworth (off spin), Intikhab (leg spin) and Iqbal Qasim(left arm spin) we have a good variety of spin.Iverson?
Surely Kumble was a far better batsman than Jones - not to mention the ultimate rabbit Ironmonger?I would have gone with

Kumble has batted below Harbhajan so often and I consider that an ultimate insult to any one's batting capabilities.Surely Kumble was a far better batsman than Jones - not to mention the ultimate rabbit Ironmonger?
Here is a quick oneCan anyone come up with an XI made up of names in consecutive alpha order, e.g.
Brian Close
Alan Border
Sachin Tendulkar
ContinuedUpside down:
Zulch
Yallop
Weekes
Vengsarkar
Umrigar (beats Upashantha and Utseya at least)
Thorpe
+Stewart
Rhodes
Qadir
Pollock, Peter
O'Reilly
Short a quick bowler, but the tail would be too long starting with Tallon/Taylor keeping wicket @ 6. Shaun Pollock bats too well to be ahead of Qadir. (It's harsh enough on Peter)
Yes one has done that toocrazy stuff.. another ineresting way would be a player from each test nation. aust.ban.eng.ind.sl.nz.pak.wi.zim. you can have 2 players from one country and 1 from the reamaining countrys or 3 from one country and 1 from the remainder.
Yes one has done that too
- Hobbs - ENG
- Gavaskar - IND
- Bradman - ENG
- Pollock G - SAF
- Sobers - WIN
- Flower - ZIM
- Imran - PAK
- Hadlee - NZL
- Mohd Rafique - BDS
- Barnes - ENG
- Murali - SRL
A superb side indeed.
If we were allowed three from one side I would have replaced Rafique with Colin Blyrhe
LOL Sacrilege saying Bradman was an Englishman!!
