The avatar challenge

Avatar challenges are not fun if you don't make an against-the-odds bet once in a while :D
Not that I'd ever risk my own precious avatar, but I'd like to have a decent chance of winning if I participated in an avatar challenge.

How's about the same principle as the Harmison one you did with Kev.

If Monty Panesar gets more than 15 wickets in the India test series I'll get to choose your avatar (could be anything).

If Monty Panesar gets less than 15 wickets you'll get to choose my avatar (could be anything).

That sound Ok?.

Without wanting to be a party-pooper I'm always hugely reluctant to gamble (in any way) on fingerspinners, because so much pertains to the pitch. If a pitch turns, I can see Panesar causing anyone, and I mean anyone, even Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman, problems. But if it doesn't... can't see it. Not everyone is West Indies and willing to repeatedly pad-up to straight balls.

And a few years ago, I'd have been quite prepared to bet that a turning Test pitch in this country would be a virtual no-chance. But of late, there's been more than a few.

And I can't risk my avatar too many times. I want a nice long stint of rainbow, TBH. Have done a fair few of late, and have B*Witcheded far more times than I've been Harmisoned (and as I say - no-one is EVER Harmisoning me again!) so might quit, for the time being, while I'm ahead.

Talk about a life story, geez.

alright... we ll keep it simple and straight on this one. If DK scores more than Cook, he is ur avatar and if Cook scores more than DK, he goes in mine. Deal?

And the loser has to have the avatar for 2 weeks.

And missing matches/innings due to injuries/wins or whatever won't count.....

Or else we can just go by runs scored/innings played and leave out all 'dnb's and 'no's... what do u think?
Oki doki you're on!

If England win the Test series against India, I am willing to have anything (of your choice) as my avatar for about a month.
A picture of Shoaib Akhtar.
Oh dear... will take a lot from me, but it's a deal. So for a month.
I swear we made a bet like that in the WC........
Yes we did, btw let's make it 2 way.

So if England win the test series, I change my avatar to Akthar for about a month.
If India win the test series and/or draw, you change yours to Sreesanth for about a month.
And then on msn he said "Deal".

Draw? Shouldn't it be either way, India win, I have Sreesanth, England win, you have Shoaib.
You do have home advantage you know. ;)
And I'm gonna have to put Sreesanth up after Mike goes, which will be next Feb.
Hmm, nah.
Okay fine...

England win, I have Akhtar for 1 month.
India win, you put Sreesanth for 2 months starting Feb.
And then on msn he said, "Deal".

Okay firstly the bet we made during the WC, none of us actually won, that's why nothing happened. Secondly I was talking about this England-India series one...

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, but you seem to make nothing but against-the-odds bets, hbh. :-O
yeah, but I won my last avatar challenge. And I have 2 bets on this India/England series. So I think I will almost definitely win at least one. Will be pretty sad if I lose both though. :(

But, wat the heck..... no fun in playing the odds all the time, tbh. :)

Willing to make a challenge with someone based on India not losing the upcoming Test series. Ie if England win it, I'll change my avatar if not...

You're on, providing one week for the change is okay with you. Never been a big fan of the massive long ones.

(Also, I should probably confirm that you're offering for the winner to pick your avatar, rather than just you changing it - I don't want to get done on a technicality. :p)
