Everyone at Essex is injured right now. Saggers and Hollioake are short-term signings due to the injury crisis. Hollioake is a great replacement for Irani in the 2020.

Actually there were rumours on Sky about Hollioake coming out of retirement. Should make Essex v Surrey in 20/20 more interesting now....

Yeah it's settled, Hollioake's playing for Essex throughout the 20:20 competition. Pleased to see it actually, I've always liked Hollioake, except for when he's murdered Kent's bowling attack.

Good start by Essex, nine overs gone and they are 27 for 6. Ali Cook went for a duck, old men Gibson and Killeen with the wickets.

KP didn't look overly impressive today, found it difficult to score of Streak and Groenewald picked up his wicket. Hampshire in a slight bit bother being five down for 128 of 33 overs. Chris Tremlett is strangely batting at six and ahead of Pothas.

Durham's side looks awesome with all their internationals back. Interesting that the lesser lights are doing the damage.

Bit worried about this 8th wicket partnership tho, both aggressive players that Durham need to get out early.

Decent bowling effort from the Bears, down at the Rose Bowl restricting the Hampshire Hawks to only 206, on a fairly decent batting wicket. Dale Steyn was probably the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers, and it is good to see his developed a bit of variety in his bowling, bowls a genuine decent off cutter and his slower ball at 60mph was a good foil to his mandatory high 80mph standard delivery. Alex Loudon, also bowled relatively well, although, his ‘new ‘action is rather peculiar, bowls with zero height, just low arm delivered yorkers.

Durham 6/3. I'd be more worried about Durham's batting and the prospect of the inspectors looking at the pitch. Plunkett cleaned up the tail nicely taking 4, how did Harmison bowl? Assuming you can watch the match that is.

Well done Bichel, got the big wicket of collingwood for just 1

im hoping Clark Warne are good enough to defend 206 :)

Durham should be OK unless Sagger & Bichel do something remarkable in the next 15 minutes or so. You can't see Essex's change bowlers doing much, afaics.

EDIT

Cue the 5th wicket whilst I typed that. Ah well. Presumably Styris is the key now.
