Great win boys! Have colts beaten a test team before?
Great to get a centruy under the belt - finally

In our first season, I think we beat them in a practice match before the season started (Season X I believe), although they're not official FC matches are they?

I believe all tour games are FC games provided one side is made up of the international touring squad and the other side is made up of a domestic FC side. Might be wrong, though.

EDIT: Provided they follow the regular rules - if they do that 13-a-side deal I would imagine it isn't anymore.

I know we beat the West Indies in an OD match once, when it was the World Cup I think. The only reason I remember that is because it's the best I've ever played in an OD match

With Thomas, Butler and Wilson out, we'll need to step up against Blue. I've named a side quickly in case Kyle isn't on in time, giving Bochat and Rai their first FC games of the Dev League this season (Bochat on debut), while Bharat came into the #4 position where she's performed for us in the past and can hopefully do something for us today.

Pretty much 50/50 calls on who I put in, though, so don't be surprised if there are last minute changes!

Player ratings - OD game v Black

S. Jasotharan: Fine innings from Jaso. Looks to be back to good form. Needed to carry on to three figures. 7/10

D.P. Towns: Heeded the calls for him to score runs, however needed to carry on after getting a start.4.5/10

M. Hopgood: Looked reasonable in his return to the OD side, but after making a start needed to carry on. Common theme here anyone?. 3/10

C.R. Butler: Butler, see above. 3/10

P. Bharat: Having a good season, but couldn't convert on this occasion. Again. 2/10

N.R. Hancock: What's happened? 0/10

M.W. Wilson: Another fine performance with the bat, but not good with the ball at all. 5/10

T.V. Weber:M.I.A. 1/10

T. Bochat: Tried hard, and one of the better performers. Needs to learn to take more wickets, has had more than enough games now. 4/10

G.M. Thomas: Kept things tight, but needed to take wickets. 3/10

J.P. McNamara: See Hancock. 0/10

Player points:

Jasotharan 3 (6)
Towns 2
Wilson 1 (13)

Colts player ratings for game against Blue

S.G. Fitzsimmons: Picked up a wicket, which was good, but looks to have gone into his shell. Perhaps thinking about test selection too much. .5/10

J. B. Malthus: Needed to go on with it in the first innings. 3.5/10

D.P. Towns: Didn't do enough, but has been so good this season..2.5/10

P.Bharat: Showed grit and determination with a fighting 88 in the first innings. Should be pleased with her return to first class cricket. 7/10

S. Jasotharan: 17 +17 =34. Needed to show more in that game, especially with the internationals away. 3/10

W.A. Kerr: Has finally broken his hoodoo of not scoring runs in the first innings, but got a duck in the second. Go figure. 5/10

M.W. Wilson: Disapointing game for the allrounder and didn't really make an impact. 2/10

N.R. Hancock: Performed really well with the ball on a difficult ptich, and chipped in with two vital innings.7/10

D.K. Rai: Very handy with the bat, but really needed to do more with the ball. Will probalby hold on to his spot though. 7/10

J.P. McNamara: Chipped in with some handy wickets. Needs to show more with the ball, because if he doesn't the batting capabilities of Rai may see him replaced when the big guns come back. 3/10

K.S. Wright: The crowd was chanting for the real Wright to stand up. Where has he gone? 1.5/10

T. Bochat: Not the worst First Class debut by any means, and aquitted himself well in the second innings. Probably batting too low at 11. 4/10

Player Points:

Bharat 3
Hancock 2 (5)
Rai 1

I kept it tight with the ball at least, but seriously need to improve my wicket taking ability. I know I can bowl wicket taking spells...I just can't do it very often. :{

Edit: also  at Kyle blasting Wilson

I go to my previous post and click edit so I can get everyone's name in bold, so I don't have to bold them everytime I do them. My apologies to Wilson. I wasn't in the mood for doing it when I was, so I apologise for people getting lower scores than they should.

Sick of losing tbh.

I've taken it upon myself to name the team and the tactics for the next game, hoping this will cause a change in fortune. I've gone a bit bowler heavy in the hope that we can sustain pressure with the ball, as it really has been our achillies heal this season.

Good luck to those selected.

Here is the side
