Dire defending by Real's defence in the first half. Deadset Phil Neville or Geremi are twice the player Cicinho is. I bet he only has a contract with them because he is Brazilian so therefore they must think he is a footballing legend.
He is having an awful season thats for sure, his intially period @ Madrid wasn't that bad though. Way down the pecking order in the national team with Alaves & Maicon doing pretty well for their respective clubs.

Fabio Cannavaro and Segio Ramos were hopeless in the first half as well. Mind you I'm surprised Espanyol have been able to hold onto their goalkeeper Carlos Kameni, as he is gun.
Word, even though they have improved 10 fold of all season the defense has had its times when it has looked as if they are sleeping at the back. Kameni was damn impressive for sure arguably the best african goalie around other than Tony Sylva.

Oh but it is funny, because it was so obviously coming. There's only so many times you can say "Oh dear. Owen's injured again. What a shame."

Have to smile at Whelan saying justice wasn't done in his interview. We've not heard the last of this.

Fair play to the Irons & the Wigs tho; commiserations to t'Blades. Must really suck.

Sore loser. His players threw it again "on the pitch" where "football is played".

Interesting to hear what his club captain had to say on the matter...

He did say it sounded a bit after the event seeing as Wigan had stayed up, but gave the impression that the players didn't think it was fair on West Ham's players to deduct points that they've earned on the field...

TBF Wigan stayed up, so he's gonna be a happy chappy tonight. I think he said it more as a show of solidarity to the other members of the alleged "gang of four" who're having the sense of humour failure about West Ham not being deducted points.

Me? I happy 'cos I think Warnock is a bit of a tosser. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Not if Beckham's replacement and the match winner, Higuain, keeps him out of the side.

Don't know why Becks didn't start i am presuming he picked up a late injury or was suspended (because i remember him getting a card last week vs Sevilla) because its pretty obvious that the form of Beckham since he came back from injury has been key to Real recent good run. Either way he makes up the best Madrid team ATM, his dead ball skills have given Madrid alot of goals lately Ramos & RVN (just like the days at Man U) being the regular acceptors.

Also RVN best striker in Europe? But that would surely mean Alex Ferguson made a mistake in letting him go...
Probably was a mistake but obviously it hasn't showed given how lethal united have been going forward this season.

How is that?, its not like Owen has had an injury prone career. Either way with the state of the national side with the crucial international fixtures to come this year one should notlaugh at word of a Michael Owen injury since England needs him.

From what I've heard, RVN was detrimental to the atmosphere of the team and this season they credit the atmosphere as one of the leading reasons for their success. He may be the best striker in Europe, but the old team vs. individuals comment might be fitting now. Ruud is better off where he is with Real, too, I reckon, with the Beckham factor aiding him.
