Well I'm not an Indian fan and all I wanted to see is some good contests between traditional rivals and the top 8 sides in the world.

And I haven't seen any Indian fans complaining here either fwiw.
i said mostly, and two i said people who are saying this was the worst wc ever, and i haven't seen many posters here saying it is.

The world cup's been a mixed bag. It started off brilliantly but lost much of its intensity in the middle of the super eight stage. Hopefully, it will pick up in the semi-finals and final. The level of the cricket played has been definitely better than '96 and '03.

Regarding Pakistan and India, there's no doubt in my mind that they'd have been more competitive then Bangladesh and Ireland. However, both of these teams only have themselves to blame for not reaching the super eight so it's really a moot point.

West Indies being off-colour on the field apart from the opening round has really put a damper on the setting as well.

Edit: It's amusing to hear people complaining about the pitches. During the Chappell-Hadlee trophy and the VB series, there was a huge chorus of voices lamenting the roads that were being served for ODI's, and in the world cup, where most pitches have supported bowlers and batsmen equally, people are still equally dissatisfied.
'Supported' in so much as most of the pitches have made proper cricket shots ineffective whilst nullifying the pace of bowlers and most of their ability to actually bowl people out.

That's why most of the pitches have been rubbish, bowlers can't bowl people out and batsmen can't play all their normal shots if they want to actually score at a decent rate.

Exactly - good batsmen have scored runs and good bowlers (and some rubbish) have taken wickets

Look at the table of top run scorers and their strike rates - amazing how they've been able to achieve this without proper cricket shots

and yet, the bowlers seem to be doing ok as well

All in all, the pitches have been the least of the WC's problems

Amazing, we all know who the people are who are doing it. I cant believe they just do it wherever they feel like, i wonder if they'd say it in SL 8-)
Well it was a disgrace and security should have done something about it, also the guy mussed have been right under a camera or microphone or something and the TV people should have done something about that as well. It was a loud as the commentators, if not louder.

Perhaps he was using a speaker or a device of some sort ?

I think SL and Murali have got used to these to be bothered...

And it would be unfair to remove the guy after he has paid his ticket (which is reportedly very expensive) . After all this is a free world and there is something called Freedom of Expression -so long as he doesn't physically or verbally abuse anyone, he is allowed to have his own amusement .:)

Nah freedom of expression means he shouldn't be arrested or prosecuted, not that he can't be evicted from a ground. It was every ball he bowled and very loud, I'd definitely support an eviction there. And his own amusement doesn't make a difference if he is ruining it for everyone else obviously and also how much he payed for a ticket doesn't make a difference either.

well, the icc when the icc was strict people complained so now the icc is less strict...
Common sense really. People complain about the ICC/Ground staff being to strict and banning idiotic things like beach balls, music instruments and things that contribute to the fun atmosphere. Not to mention food etc. This obviously is different to that as it is boorish behaviour and should be elimated from every cricket ground.

Bangladesh have a real chance of knocking over the West Indies tonight, they'll need a very good team effort to do it though.
