Dhaka Division vs Cricket Web Green

Played at Fatullah

Scorecard
Commentary

A solid opening partnership set the scene for a comprehensive victory for CW Green. Lezama and Hogarth both displayed real quality in an opening partnership of 66 before a sharp Dhaka fieldsman ran Hogarth out. Read was soon to go to continue his dismal pre-season which brought Scott to the crease on the back of an impressive hundred he slashed and drove the bowlers in an entertaining innings before he was dismissed by Mosharraf Hossain, Garven and Lezama followed shortly after just short of Lezama's century. Dubb-Lynch and Halsey both played entertaining short cameo's and looked set before being dismissed. This bought Speirs and Forner to the crease Speirs blocked like a Jason Gillespie clone while Forner swuck like a wild chook, both were dismissed after valuable contributions which left Green with a reasonable score of 323. Sharif was the best bowler for the home team.

Mcnamara and Forner the two rookies got the ball rolling, Forner bowling particurly quickly for a supposed Fast-Medium pace bowler. Omar,Piju Hossain and Ashraful all offered reasonable resistance while the young Green attack probed bowling line and length. Ashraful was dismissed and this became the catalist for Forner to unleash some hostile pace bowling at the lower order which resulted in him collecting the last four wickets.

The 2nd Innings started with some quite "brilliant" Green batting lead by Hogarth and Lezama again 109 runs into the innings Green lost the first wicket and 2nd wicket in a matter of overs Hogarth and Lezama back to the pavilion. This brought Read and Scott to the crease could young keeper Read show his wares while batting? the answer was a solid 24 before being dismissed by Nippy Nazmul Hossain. Scott was next to go caught by Sahariar of the bowling of Sarkar. Garven and Dubb-Lynch then proceded to show a masterclass absolutely smashing the bowlers at will 1,2,3 the ball went to the boundary as both batsmen brought up thier 50's. Dubb-Lynch put a ball into the fence before he smashed it back into the waiting arms of bowler Shahadat Hossain. 3 overs later Garven brought up a well deserved ton and displayed raw emotion to the dressing rooms. Halsey played a few nice strokes before he was dismissed by Rafique. Speirs and Forner disappeared quickly before some entertaining runs from Mitchell brought the innings to a close. Rafique being the best of the bunch.

A solid start got Dhaka too 4/226 with contributions from Omar.Piju Hossain and Ashraful leading the way but before long McNamara showed his values and entertained the crowd with a splendid bowling performance of 5/81.
