Haha, Southampton destroyed Wolves 6-0. Given themselves a real shot at a playoff spot with that as they've close the gap on Wolves to 3 points and utter destroyed Wolves' goal difference in the process.

just showed that wolves are no where near good enough to play in the premiership any time soon, southampton however are looking like a nice team if somewhat lacking in consistency, be nice to see them back up in the premiership when it seems like all the teams going down this season will be london based.

thats no excuse, the only two players of any stature missing were henry and van persie, the squad was more than capable of getting a result here, starting with both diaby and denilson struck me as being very unwise, and it cost them dear, rosicky and ljungberg need to feature more often, and the so called "beast" julio baptista needs to raise his game as he was very poor yesterday, problem is, arsenal dont want reyes back, reyes doesnt want to come back, but real madrid dont want him either, mind you, reyes or baptista....theyre both not playing to standard.
A couple of years ago my mate asked me why did Arsenal sign Reyes instead of Robben when he would of been cheaper? The only answer I could give was that Reyes was not cup tied.

This may come back to haunt me, but I'm going for Derby, Birmingham and West Brom to go up, but it wouldn't surprise me if Preston got in instead.

I like Derby to go up, I saw their 5-1 trashing of Colchester and was very impressed. Anybody else going to have a go on who will go up from theChampionship? Still laughing at Leeds mind you.

No hope for Sunderland? Believe they're the most form team of the lot. On that note, it's great to see that United loan man Johnny Evans has - apparently - only played and lost in one game of the 17 he's played for Sunderland, and apparently is the only unbeaten player this year to date in the Championship.

It doesn't make any difference if Sunderland go up or not, they will only get trashed again and be lucky to win a game. At least the three aforementioned by me would put up more of a fight then what the team of Paul Collingwood would IMO.

Tbh I think that all Championship sides that come up this year will go straight down again. None of them, from what I have seen, are very good.

People say that every year, but it's only ever happened once AFAIK
Yeah it has only happened once, but usually there is some outstanding team that is obviously going to have a chance of staying up (for example Reading), but there just isn't this year. Obviously occasionally a team surprises everybody, such as Wigan and Ipswich, but that doesn't mean it'll happen again, and whichever 3 teams go up are all more likely to go down than stay up IMO.

If Sunderland come up, I can't see them going back down.

Birmingham as well would have a good chance of staying up IMO.

Sunderland seem to have learnt that lower division players can be brought up and win you the Championship but you need some real quality to do well in the Premiership.

Word up Roy Keane, what a bloke.

Sunderland are going up. No doubt. The only question for me is wheather Derby or Birmingham go with them. My heart is begging Birmingham to just pip Derby, however I have seen enough Championship football to know that Derby will be in the top flight next year

Sunderland were the ones I was a bit hesitant about, but IMO they'd still go down.

Birmingham are IMO a worse team now than they were when they went down a year ago.

disagree completely, birmingham have an excellent youngster in seb larsson, cameron jerome will score goals, and damian johnson is extremely dependable, they have a good squad from which the ogres such as upson, heskey and dunn have all been moved along, very promising.

Reyes had all the credentials that would make him a successful premiership player, and there were huge doubts over robbens fitness and vunerability to injuries, and in fairness robben has spent a lot of his time at chelsea out injured, where reyers was fit for most of his time at arsenal.

In terms of ability and technique there is no reason why reyes shouldnt have been a sucess, his problems were mental and in his attitude, he adapted well to most of the physical demands of the premiership and began to score a lot of goals, but since the encounter at old trafford when gary neville well and truly smashed him out of his boots his bottle went and it all went down hill from there, a shame really.

i seem to remember a lot of people writing reading off for not adding to their squad actually.

Yes there will always be a few idiots, even without adding to their squad it was always probable that they were going to be okay given how much they dominated last year, tbf few expected them to be doing as well as they are but that is not the point.
