TBH Rangers IMO are not much better than Watford,West Ham or Charlton.
Pretty much. They've fallen away so so much, and then Scotland's 3rd team Hearts are in the process of destroying themselves. Scottish football is proving itself to be so so average.

Premiership making a claim for best league in Europe.
Been best league in Europe for a fair while now IMO. Anyway, as has been said, the draw makes an all-English final a distinct possibility, the only way that works though is if we're one of them. And if we are, I distinctly hope it's the Scousers, we have the wood on them.

Interesting last few weeks in football.

United increasing the lead in the premiership over the blues (although saying later to Laarson would be sad) along with some lovely CL matches around Europe. Surprising to see the spains big guns out so early, Liverpool played very well over two legs especially @ Anfield, if they do get Villa next season they would have a superb side IMO.

Only disappointment was Beckham's injury really was hoping he could be back in the England side after his recent performances for Madrid. But overall looking foward to the next few months as United aim for the trebble again..

Bet the CDMs wished they'd done the obviously correct thing at the time and sold chief poseur while a team was willing to pay stupid money for him. He's predictably gone downhill this season and now he's at the age where most players tend to struggle with injuries and he's no exception.

It was just as much a no-brainer as AC Milan selling Shevchenko for a fortune.

Yes I agree about Real Madrid as being "overrated" but defenitely not Lyon if you were being serious. And I don't seem to understand when you say "when there have been no easy games".Do you think every team in Serie A plays to a good standard?.I agree that 17 wins on the trot is good but without Juventus I am not surprised that Inter are so far ahead. And by the way Rangers are sure as hell not over rated as nobody really rates them in the SPL or European teams (apart from Rangers fans). Celtic played pretty poor against an average A.C Milan team IMO apart from Kaka.I don't think they're "overated" as playing in the SPL doesn't make alot of people feel terribly optimistic about a team's chances in europe.
Well to say if all the games were easy from where Udinese (9th spot) and downwards is being unfair, otherwise wouldn't all the games end in 5-0, 6-0, 7-0 drubbings?

Chelsea still haven't done anything in Europe since Uncle Roman took over, and yet aside from this season and his first season in ownership, they have dominated the EPL and have a higher turnover of players then Inter does, so what does that make them.

So go on, name me a better holding midfielder then say Vieria or Cambiasso (when he hasn't be injured)?

Beckham had as much chance of being picked in the England squad as Ireland have of winning the Cricket World Cup.

Ruling out Liverpool here and now TBH. They're a very good side, but as they showed against Barca, they don't take enough of their chances. Man Utd FTW, they've got the experience where it counts.

I think if Chelsea don't win it this season, then they never will.

Chelsea would be up there for me too, but I've still got question marks over the commitment of some of their big names, notably Ballack. We'll see how they go when it comes down to it.

Their chairman really is awful isn't he. Can't blame the leaving of personnel with the goings on there.

Yeah when you know the signs aren't good when he tell's the manager it is isn't your business to know who I sign except to make them play as a team and get results. WTF

And thing's aren't going well either when he hired a *** offender as manager.

They've let 2 of their best players go and then the best Scottish goalkeeper has been reduced to the reserves.

Other problem with the Scottish leagues are teams like Livingston and Inverness Caledonian Thistle who were so desperate to get in to the Scots Prem that they had a ridiculous sized wage budget coming up through the leagues and ended up bankrupt and are starting to drift down.

Vieira is still a good player but defenitely isn't the force of 2-3 years ago when I watch him in the CL.He IMO doesn't rank up with the best there is.I'd much rather rely on these men to deliver a more effective performance.Cambiasso I appeciate is a very good player but there are many still better than him IMO.

You can still win with generally wasteful finishing, the CDMs nearly did it last year. Defense is a lot more important than an attack in top level football and Liverpool are pretty well organised and work hard as a team, so they've got a chance.

WRT Liverpool's success, it depends on two things. I'd back them to get to the final from here - should beat PSV and have a realistic chance of beating either Valencia or Chelsea.

I think that if they meet us in the final, we'll win, I'll always back us against the Scousers. If they meet any of the 3 other possible teams (a distinct possibility) Liverpool have a decent chance.

WRT United having the experience at the later stages, I agree we have a good chance of winning it but not due to experience - this side is very different from the Treble side, and is also not as good.

VDS is a very good 'keeper but he's not Schmeichel, and similarly Vidic and Rio are improving as a partnership but aren't Stam and Johnson. Neither Evra or Heinze are as good as Irwin either. On the wings, Giggs is having a good season but we aren't getting as much out of him as we did then, due to needing to rest him more, and Ronaldo is only playing as well as Beckham back in '99, as he was having an immense season. And Carrick isn't Keane either. And obviously we don't have as much firepower upfront - Cole, Yorke, Solskjaer and Sheringham > what we have now by some distance IMO.

Additionally, when we won it, we had a lucky run WRT injuries (though Keane and Scholes were suspended for the final tbf), whereas we are now picking up injuries at the wrong time.
