how funny that Gasnier is gone, Dragons are gone, they may as well not turn up this year.

Broncos losing 46-0 to Melbourne wasnt so funny though, the team we picked wasnt that bad, the test players were missing but it was still a good team. Hopefully thats the last we have seen of Shane Perry though.

I still can't believe the Broncos won the Premiership with Shane Perry. Still he and Loots Bosman have to be two of the biggest freeloaders in world sport currently.

at the Dragons now, I suppose this improves Queensland's chances already in SoO :d

Well I am a St George fan so to see Gaz out for the season is galling to put it politely, but it's a also shame for the sport too having secured his services after thr ARU was sniffing around last year. He is one of those players you would pay to watch even as a neutral IMHO.

Dragons look squarely buggered now, especially with Head still recovering from the op. Anyone seen the lad Richard Williams who Brown's supposed to be calling up?

How could it be bad news... Although what NSW will lose in Gasnier they will pick up with Mini. And Lyon will likely take the centre spot now...

So you missed his time at Parramatta then, or his previous matches with NSW and Australia?

Was the best centre back then and will prove to be the best again. From all reports his improved as a players and added extra aspects of his game he didn't have back then, by playing at 5/8. He probably wont play 5/8 for us at the start of the season with Watmough injury likely to fast track Matai into the forwards.

Lyon was a good centre, and he dominated the Super League, but he really got shown up when he had the opportunity to impress home fans in his 1 test appearance last year.

He needs to prove that he can adapt back into the NRL and match centres like Hodges, Gasnier, Tahu, Soliola and Whatuira... which I think he will if given the opportunity to play centre.

Isn't Matai a little too small to play in the forwards?

My only suggestion would be to make sure her employment is not paid for by the Titans directly has that comes into 2nd party entitlements from the salary cap or something along those lines. AFAIK if players are offered cars, houses etc it all has to be included as part of the salary cap or at least disclosed to the NRL. Not 100% sure on the situation, but I think it is something like that.

A few years ago Lyon was potentially one of the best centres in the game, he never was outstanding here, but certainly above average, if you look at the way Gasnier and Hodges have played for the past two seasons Lyon has never produced any form similar to that when it matters. I'm not saying he isnt capable of being that good, just that he hasnt so far.

Apart from being at fault for Wellens' try, he did no worse than any other of the Australians (Lockyer aside) that game.

Yes, because entirely due to the general standard in the NRL being slightly higher than Super League, all rugby in England now doesn't matter.
