It's pointing-out that his ignore-list grows and grows... on utterly banal grounds.Where as that is adding so much value to our forum?

If I cared about ODIs this selection would make me angry.
Loye completely changed the demenour of Englands innings and prevented the oppostition dominating and putting their stamp on Englands batting. As had been the case for the past few years.
He threw a wild card into the equation. Now we can happily look forward to being 50-3 after 15 overs.
Pathetic.
Well as both Strauss and Joyce have batted in the middle order in the CBS, I dont see why a guy with 1 ODI (great forward planning) makes it into the squad.I can see the logic. With Vaughan and Strauss and Joyce we have three openers already; with Michael fit then Loye was never going to play anyway. Bopara gives cover for the middle-order all-rounder in Collingwood and Dalrymple - and we managed a win Loyeless in the CBS anyway.
You would need to understand how mindsets work to appreciate it. Every game he didnt play, the opposition knew they would be facing a very placid early inning from England.Eh? Loye did about as much as an opener as Geraint or Prior did - they were probably both better as a keeper than Loye is fielder as well. That should tell you something.
Unorthodoxy doesn't excuse him from being rubbish.
Despite Vaughan's opening credentials being thoroughly dubious and Joyce having never been an opener in his 28-year-old life?I can see the logic. The biggest problem recently was they produce shockingly bad batting displays. He does nothing whatsoever to stop that happening - England improved because Collingwood scored a hatful of runs and some of the others hung around and did the basics first before trying anything fancy. You would need to understand how mindsets work to appreciate it. Every game he didnt play, the opposition knew they would be facing a very placid early inning from England.
It allowed them to settle, find a rhythm and dominate. England have recently been by far the slowest out of the blocks and it has left them in real trouble. Probably the biggest reason (along with lack of batting depth and poor bowling economy) why they have been such a poor ODI team recently.
Loye completely changes the demeanor and attitude of the England innings and stopped the opposition having it all there own way. This affects the wholw innings and team.
Even without scoring lots of runs he stops England being the opponents bitches and dominated.
Its obviously preferable to score lots of runs but he made a huge difference for th above reasons and broke the opponents lengths up which also benefited his teammates.
Being generous aren't you RichardDespite Vaughan's opening credentials being thoroughly dubious and Joyce having never been an opener in his 28-year-old life?
I didn't... quite... get that-'un.Being generous aren't you Richard
That could be expanded to Vaughan's ODI credentials
Well - are you?I suppose Bopara for Loye is the only real surprise.
I think it's a case of the selectors pulling rank on Big Dunc, personally. As he was sent in @ 8 (below Nixon!) in his only game thus far I think it's safe to assume Fletch not yet a fully paid up fan of young Ravi.
Er..ok. No worriesI didn't... quite... get that-'un.
He's a young cricketer with potential, but he wouldn't have made my XV. Loye would've gone.Well - are you?
And I personally can see Bopara's selection being almost as baffling as Hoggard's and Harmison's last time around.
Aha...Er..ok. No worries
Ill explain. You questioned Vaughan's opening credentials. I merely suggested, why limit it to questioning a small part of his game,? Why not expand it to criticising him as an ODI player as a whole. We all know that his ODI career (and domestic List A) has been poor, so why limit the criticism just to opening?
Its not really a big deal
Performed fairly nervelessly for all of his 5 deliveries...He's a young cricketer with potential, but he wouldn't have made my XV. Loye would've gone.
Ravi ticks a lot of the boxes the England management look for: good in the field, greased lightening between the wickets (too quick for Dalrymple the other day) & multi-dimensional. In his favour he performed fairly nervelessly when he got his chance & picked up Hussey as a bonus.
Yeah, I read an article about him where he claimed he hoped to one day be as good a bowler as Paul Collingwood. So his bowling obviously isn't too flash right now...Performed fairly nervelessly for all of his 5 deliveries...
I'm very far from convinced his selection was a good one, for either the CB Series or the WC. Has one hell of a lot of potential (as a batsman - one of the most overrated seamers I've ever seen) but is far from the finished-article.
Added to there being other contenders with better cases, obviously.
Bowled 4 overs, didn't he?Performed fairly nervelessly for all of his 5 deliveries...
