Brilliant win for Jamees 999ers!

And that's the end of the match. Jamees 999ers won by 5 runs.
Jamees 999ers 122-10
Magical Ponies 117-10

Scorecard etc to come (maybe)
Uhhh.... what?

Jamees 999ers 122 (45.4)
Gowshall 43 (76), Wanless 42 (77), Fillery 21 (34)
Erasmus 2/20 (7.4), Tedstone 2/27 (10)

Magical Ponies 117 (28.5)
Griffin 60* (68), Farmer 20 (24), Terry 12 (21)
Bardle 8/25 (10), Aldred 1/10 (4.5)

So ****ing pathetic. Fair play to Bardle, but I really expected more from Tedstone (0) and Canning (1)

Jamees 999ers Magical Ponies
Top Order: competent competent
Middle Order: mediocre proficient
Lower Order: worthless abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong proficient
Spin Bowling: mediocre proficient
Fielding: feeble abysmal

That was my first prof middle order rating at least. Rematch is on the cards though, at my ground this time.

Fairly decent cup draw:

Over and Out
Top Order: quality
Middle Order: respectable
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: strong
Fielding: feeble

I'm at home, three of their four seamers are medium pacers and they're even more collapsable than me. Should be able to take them fairly comfortably on a dusty track what with Summers to take care of their better bats.

Gotta love those gun bowlers.

Won cup game easily enough, bowled them out for 109 (Watkins 4-16, Harewood 3-39). Lost four early wickets (sacrificial lambs mainly) but Watkins and Ashton made light work of it.
Code:
        [B]Itsy Bitsy Spiders Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: strong mediocre
Middle Order: competent exceptional
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: superb proficient
Spin Bowling: feeble elite
Fielding: mediocre feeble
Still waiting on some results, but likely opposition is this:

Peters Utd

Top Order: quality
Middle Order: respectable
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: superb
Spin Bowling: competent
Fielding: feeble

Will be a bit tougher, but should be manageable.

BTW, new record.

Hmm Mahindinho lost to one of my old division teams.

Oh and of vague interest is two of the teams in my division play each other twice in three days (league and cup), but that seems to happen a fair bit anyway.

Hmm, one of the teams that was heading for a loss pulled out a 1 run win (defended five of the last over - 1 1 1 . W . ) so I'll be playing this team instead:

Cow Shot Corner XI
Top Order: quality
Middle Order: proficient
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: proficient
Spin Bowling: strong
Fielding: woeful

Marginally more favourable.

Edit: gah, got it wrong, I will be playing Peters Utd after all.

Clapo's XI recorded a comprehensive win against Alternative XI yesterday

Clapo's XI 5/279 (50)
Appleyard 91(99) Taylor 60(62) Stroud 54(54) Ludlow 49(68)
Watts 2/48(10) Mohan 0/39(10) McIntosh 27/67(10)

Alternative XI 71ao (22.5)
Giles 41(52) Gratton 15(30) Watts 7(21)
Mayer 3/16(7) Savage 2/1(1) Groves 2/17(5) Walton 2/22(5)

Pleased with my teams overall performance. Appleyard played yet another top innings from 4, Ludlow again solid at 3, & Taylor continues to be my Mike Hussey (except better :p) and play gun finishing roles. The bowling effort was pleasing as well, with all 5 taking wickets, and Meyer leading from the front again :D

Onwards to round 2 at the Gabba :)

IF Hougaard got an exceptional top order rating yesterday? I'm in trouble next week.

Pray hard so I can avenge you, Gaurav.

Beer & Ludlow are a pleasent suprise, they were a week after Savage & Appleyard last pop.

Beer & Savage also lose their bowling nets... 1 going to Verhoeven, the other changing to a Fitness Net which meyer will occupy...

Current Net situation is now:

Meyer - 1xBowling, 1xFitness
Groves - 1xBowling 1xFitness
Verhoeven - 2xBowling
Ludlow - 1xBatting
Stroud - 1xBatting
Applelyard - 1xBatting
Taylor - 1xBattting

Groves' Stamina should pop next week, and his fitness net will probably go to Applyard. Once Taylors batting pops ((about 3/4 weeks), that net will go to Stroud

Decent pop for Vadders there. Reimann should pop next week since they're the same age and I put them on nets at the same time, and as a rule Reimann never pops more than 2 weeks later.

Friendly, anyone? :)
