*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

Loony BoB

International Captain
Yes, but as has been said before by a few members, I feel that's the manager/coach, not the quality/heart of players from the country.

What do you disagree with?Is it that I'm saying the truth?
No you're not, and you haven't replied to any of my posts saying that England weren't playing a first XI last night, because even by your own first XI you posted, only 2 or 3 players of that were playing last night.

So by your own admission, England were not playing a first XI.

All I'm saying is that some of the players have played a few games for eg Crouch,Downing and Carrick. It wasn't the strongest X1 however without Rooney,Joe Cole,Hargreaves and Owen.

I hope that was a joke.
It wasn’t I’m afraid, to be an ultra does not imply right wing tendencies. Both Livorno and Empoli’s ultras are left wing. AS Roma's CUCS are a middle class left wing group of ultras and it’s not unlike Bologna or Perugia to have huge Che Guevara banners situated around their grounds on Sunday afternoons.

Well at least Owen (Hargreaves) will be back for the Israel clash because I don’t think I can stomach another Michael Carrick performance like last night. The guy has no tank, doesn’t tackle and he only passes the ball back or sidewards. Such a ridiculously average player.

Yes, seen those rumours.

Not sure what to make of it to be honest.

He's done extremely well with Macclesfield, so can't be that bad a manager with limited resources.

But he keeps saying nobody's approached him.

Sorry, but how does one game where Gerrard (who's been fairly decent on the right) was playing in the middle and Lampard (central midfielder) was playing on the left mean anything?.
I don't quite get what your saying here sorry?

As for doing OK against Holland, were you watching a different game to the rest of us?.
England did ok vs Holland, they played well in patches & really faded towards the end from what i remember i.e defending too deep & Van der vaart or whatever his name is scored. Otherwise should have really won that game.

We haven't played well for what seems like an eternity, but the most worrying thing is we're playing worse and worse with every game.
All true, but as a die hard fan i'm still hoping that with all the talent that they will play as unit & qualify for Euro 2008.

England are rubbish, they have the worse coach ever to coach them, England don't deserve to make Euro 2008. There I said it.

Although aside from McLaren, who else was there? Mourinho? He would rather manage Portugal, but has hinted at England IIRC and would rather manage Chelsea still, Ferguson or Wenger? No chance, Fergie could potentially end up with the EPL title and Arsenal are on the verge of some great things, Scolari? Wouldn't really appreciate managing England and probably wouldn't care as much, plus the language problems, Pearce? Not yet.

Did anybody else here about Juan Roman Riquelme going back to Boca Juniors on loan?

He's not "ridiculously average" at all. Carrick actualy does tackle, which largely goes un-noticed, and does have a decent engine. His passing is second to none, and he's been a key reason why United are 1st atm.

Still wouldn't be in my England XI though.

Well that's your opinion (presumably playing for Man Utd enhances his ability ten fold) and my opinion is his ridiculously average. Performances such as Wednesday night and the Arsenal game, do not do much to change such an opinion. Now if he was bought for say £5 million then I could say decent signing, has no tank, can’t tackle... (:p) but for his price tag I can’t see much value. But whatever floats your boat I guess.

You weren't a fan of David May were your?:D
