I feared it was a turning point as soon as England had a ridiculous amount of luck in denying NZ the bonus point a couple of games ago.

The laughable drops were bad enough, but when the umpires decided to help England out too, by giving Nixon not out on a huge edge through to the keeper it was pretty obvious what would happen.

I was again proved to be correct.

Would that be the bonus point which was totally inconsequential to them making the finals?

No that'll be a word called "momentum"

And like I said, a phrase known as "a turning point"
I think you're reading way too much into a phase of play which meant absolutely nothing.

Although you're probably doing it on purpose so you can justify your ridiculous thoughts that England got into the finals with the help of the umpires, so I won't bother replying to you any longer.

Yeah what difference would that bonus point would have made, the black caps had to win the last game to qualify for the finals.

Its pretty clear that the black caps were not lacking any momentum in the last game , they were very well placed to win the game when they 160 odd for the loss of two wickets and from there they lost the game. You can put it down to inability of pacing the innings properly by the black caps.

Methinks Ponting is a bit peeved at England for winning a couple of games. I hadn't really noticed anyone talking England up and you can't expect the players to say that they are expecting to get thumped.

"There's no doubt they've played some good cricket in the last two games and they will no doubt take some confidence from that.

"I have noticed they've been talking themselves up a fair bit after winning two one-day games in a couple of days.

"Now they have to come out and do it against us, a team that have dominated them all summer."

 @ the bolded bit. Subtlety of a sledgehammer that bloke. :p

Wow just read an article where Bracewell wasnt defending himself or the squad. He actually commented on problem areas and how they needed to be worked on.

I just read that when NZ take on Aus at Wellington in Chappell/Hadlee the ground is also going to be used for a game of rugby the next day. Is this poor planning or can they change paintings on the ground and the pitch straight away?

Geez, Hayden is looking great here.

Probably means he'll play a wild pull shot in a couple of overs and get out for 20.
