Warwick Harry, you are only tormenting yourself," roars Bizza. "Australia are a shambles. Sack the coach, sack the captain. The team is an embarrassment. The lions have roared all over your country and there is no hiding place for the losers in green (not even canary yellow anymore...!) The Aussie cricket team have let their country down!" You tell em Bizza

Yeah, many people seem to have an understanding that arrogance is simply acting with confidence, rather than acting like an ass. And the idea that somebody would earn the right to act like an ass is pretty stupid, if people take the time to think about it.

This game is O, V, E, R, girlfriend, unless Symmo somehow comes back out.

Had to happen eventually, I guess, and this was their last chance. Had the Poms gone down in this one, I'd have been curious as to when the last time an English side left an Aussie tour without a single victory over the home team (at least, from when one dayers were a regular part of the itinerary). Actually I'm curious anyway, does anybody know this?
I was going to say 2002/03 as I'm pretty sure we didn't win a single onedayer then. But then I remembered the final test.

Maybe 1990/91, as we certainly didn't win a single test that series, and the onedayers were generally embarrassing. There wouldn't be any other tours since the onedayers came along.

So it took England's 4th XI to beat us. Good job, lads.
Does make you wonder what on earth our best lineup is though. Joyce now looks a shoe-in, so what happens when KP is back and if Vaughan ever gets fit? On the day that the ECB confirm that Gough, Kirtley & Sidebottom are in contention for the WC squad after all, Plunkett & Mahmood produce their best oneday performances. Nice to win though.

Haha, sour grapes I think there Josh. Aussie on the decline, England on the rise. NZ to play SA in the WC final, (SA having beaten Aus in the semi)....
(England make the quarter-finals)

You're right on both counts - England didn't win a single ODI against Australia on either tour, but as you said, won the last test (was it Sydney?) in '02/03. I didn't remember how truly awful '90/91 was.

There's no quarter-finals, only the super 8 stage.....which is what you probably meant anyway.

Gilly is a legend, I love listening to his interviews.

He doesn't seem to take it seriously at all, which is good because Mark Nicholas is a freakin' turd interviewer. He bums England so bad it's embarrassing.

If I was an England selector I would look to replace Loye with Collingwood for the next game provided Vaughn is still injured. Perhaps open with Bell or the new guy.
