The you're a :clown: Remember, class is permanent...
Sure, but this is nothing to do with form. To begin with, Hayden wasn't all that great an ODI batsman to begin with. He was good, but certainly flawed. And besides, he was dropped for poor performance before last summer, did nothing much to earn his place and only got back in because Jaques was in poor form. The problem is, Hayden is 35, isn't the best one day opener in the country anyway, offers little in terms of future development and wasn't even in good form. There was no reason to pick him, and there still isn't.

He could make 150 today and it wouldn't change any of those things aside from form. And, as you pointed out, form isn't really all that important.

I was also not very happy with the way haydos was batting. But you got to take into account that playing at this level you need some luck, its upto you than to make most of your luck and hayden seems to be doing that for sure.

But you can't depend on luck. What'll happen in the WI when the other teams manage to hold their catches?

The heat seems to got to fleming. Ross taylor trying to do a tendulkar bowling off-spin and leg-spin, needs to do some work on them though.

Haydos is batting better now than what he was batting earlier, that's true all players at that level or in fact any other level you need to have luck to make a big score. If you look at most big innings by different players they have given away at least 1 chance.

Hopefully the innings here has the same effect on hayden that the 143* in the world cup had on symo's odi career.

Except for when he was rated the best ODI batsman in the world according to the ICC 4 years ago
A good OD batsmen 4 years ago, but he's done **** all since then, hardly classy. The only reason he's in the team is because A) Watson was Injured, and B) Jaques was in poor form. He force his way into the team on a sheer weight of runs in any form of the game, and really is batting no better than when he was originally dropped from the OD team.

Should he score a century here, it shouldn't change a thing, as it's hardly been a commanding performance. If this is his only innings above 50 before the WC, it'll be nothing short of a ****e decision should he indeed make the WC squad.

As i type he's dropped again...Clearly all Class 8-)

Hayden dropped again by marshall! It seems like the kiwi's are handing over hayden with belated christmas gifts.

And Marshall drops a catch!...If there's one thing that we can usually rely on with him is his ability in the field. He comes on as substitute and misses the Hussey run-out and now misses a catch like that. What a plonker, get him on the plane going the other direction to Styris.

This is a massive step back for the kiwi's. 3 dropped catches, countless fumbles, and some dreadful captaincy by Fleming. Really awful stuff all round.
