Good listening again thanks

Some of the lesser debuts you have missed

Froggy Thomson and Ross Duncan Aus 1970
Dennis Lillee and Tony Dell Aus 1971

Ricky Ponting and Stuart Law Aus 1995 two careers which diverged sharply after this game.

:)

Aye you guys are actually getting better. Need to find a way to get more people to listen though.. Maybe more twitter feuds will help?

I try to promote on reddit but I doubt anyone listens to us there.

I tried PlanetCricket for a while be we got no feedback there too.

My only other ideas for increasing listner-ship is to throw it out on other forums like ICF, or to find a way to affiliate us with a podcast website. Indicast could get us a decent listener-ship. But we would dramatically have to improve sound quality for that, and I'm not yet sure how to do it. We could record the skype call instead of the skype output I suppose.

If you have any other ideas, let us know.

Cross promotions with other podcasts would be the way to go imo.. That will give you access to an audience who already listen to podcasts. So write to one of the other cricket podcasters? Or maybe abuse them on twitter and ask them to feature you to "clear the air".

When the new DBC game launches, do a let's play and start talking about cricket **** and hope it gets a decent number of followers on youtube. Because interest and people searching for those words would be high initially after release, so use it. Then, link them to the podcast or keep doing videos. Also try twitch or whatever.

One strange phenomena I have seen with Jack Slack's podcast is that his upload to youtube gets a very high number of listens.. I don't understand how people find it convenient to listen to hour long podcasts on youtube but it is apparently a thing.

Jake and I could do a video call vs audio but I'm not sure how comfortable we are with our faces on the interwebs

Oh he doesn't even do that.. Just uploads the audio to youtube with one image showing for the duration of the show.. You can maybe have say 4 or 5 images throughout the show.. For example whenever the India England series comes up you can show Duckett's defense against spin.

Yeah this is a good idea.

YouTube is useful since it doesn't buffer the whole way, thus restricting your data usage. This would mostly concern people using their phone data probably.

Good listening as always. I'm not sure if you're too far into making the next one already, but Hameed got me thinking that I'd like to hear you do a 'Played well when injured XI', or something like that. Not sure if you might have done one already in an older podcast that I haven't got around to listening to yet, though.

That's a good one. Five names come to mind immediately.
