Hastings could have a chance, however slim, to follow the career footsteps of Ryan Harris IMO

He's been bowling very well at times in international cricket lately, and while he's not as quick, you never know

He has permanent residency, hasn't played for South Africa for over 4 years, so I think once he gets citizenship he's eligible.

It'll be interesting to see if Cooper actually stays in South Australia. He's not from there originally, doesn't play for their Big Bash side and is university educated (I'm not sure which field, tbf) so a move could be on the cards even if he doesn't pick up a contract elsewhere.

Crap article. Vinnie only mentioned England to say it was Cosgrove's way back into the team, not to deride it. It's a furphy anyway, be very surprised if one of the top players in any Shield team was actually penalised for taking an off-season gig in England. His latest contract was Cosgrove's lifeline after Tassie turfed him so he was on notice anyway, 1 ton in two seasons says everything that needs to be said. Couldn't help but notice his fitness was mentioned again too.
