Hi there - we had a draft where the criteria was you had to pick one (1) batsman from a set of eleven average brackets, naturally with a batsman per bracket per team. The brackets:

>50.01
45.01-50.00
40.01-45.00
35.01-40.00
30.01-35.00
25.01-30.00
20.01-25.00
15.01-20.00
10.01-15.00
5.01-10.00
<5.00

We found it was hard to get a strong batting order when you probably had to have two batsmen in the top six averaging below 35 and two for your top seven averaging below 30.

Thanks for running the draft Shady. Will need to think about the teams as several are very close.

big fan of the batting lineups with FC legends Ramprakash and Bevan, as their poor test records helped stretch the order and shorten the tail.

some very good teams on display, not an easy pick. How many do we have to select?

Given that this is test match cricket I am quite partial to teams with very strong bowling attacks,

I like OS XI, WW XI, Howe XI, JC XI, and Zinzan's sides

Three.

I'll go for Zinzan, Watson and TBY. Would've voted for harsh too but the other 3 have better 5th/6th bowling options.

My favourites were;

Schearzie's The Shadows
TBY's Odd Jobs
The J_C XI

Special mention to ***** which I liked for it's originality.

Voted for Schearzie, OS and Watson in the end although several unlucky to miss out - but how on earth has Howe's side got no votes at all?

The Battlers Prince

International Vice-Captain
Went for Watson, OS and the B&B XI's. Honourable mention to Howe's side for one but I would have taken Darling as the captain but other than that a good side. The Odd jobs side is strong too and seeing its votes I can't say I disagree with it too much at top spot

Went for TBY, harsh and OS.

TBY's batting lineup is by far the strongest, and as well as an awesome new ball pairing it has a **** load of all-rounders/decent part-timers to help the bowling look good.

Harsh's bowling attack is great and he bats very deep, which is important in something like this.

OS....I just would love to watch it. Great bowling attack and Lara, KP and Macartney make for a very strong core with the bat. Though I'd consider changing Giffen for an opener.

Unluckies:

J_C - great middle order, and bowling attack, but I feel the batting lineup is a bit shallow.

WW - awesome bowling attack, but I dislike the balance of the middle order.

Zinzan - again a very good bowling attack, but the tail is too long IMO.

Howe - batting a bit reliant on Hutton IMO. Love that attack though (this applies to a lot of sides I see)

Watson - would gone very close to votes if it had an absolute ATG bowler. Not sure Holding is quite there.

I thought that WalkingWicket would come close to getting the most votes, but in fact he has none.

Evans should be at No.7, Atapattu is out of his normal opening position, and Procter is one rung too high, but other than these trivialities his line-up has few flaws.

The top 3 batsman are brilliant (where it counts) and the attack is great: Ambrose - Procter - Lohmann - Kumble - Reid.

Butcher Is probably the weakest player, but he was still good enough to score 173* against McGrath - Gillespie - Lee - Warne. So importantly, the team has no unproven passengers.

Unlucky.
