Duo set to make comeback

Key English pair Michael Vaughan and Andrew Flintoff are expected to be back for England’s second Test against the West Indies on Friday.

The return of all-rounder Flintoff who was a late withdrawal from the first Test with an ankle injury and skipper Vaughan who sustained a finger injury, will be a big boost to the home side after the first Test ended in a draw.

“We’re much more hopeful for Michael. He’s going to have a net on Tuesday, he’s had two or three nets so far with a little bit of pain but nothing too bad,” said coach Peter Moores.

“Andrew was quite close to this Test match, he had a strict fitness test but was just a bit too sore.

“But he’s come through again on Sunday for Lancashire and we’re just hoping when he tries out in the next couple of days he comes through.

“He’s a big-match player, it would be great to have him back in the side – people feed off him.”
