------------------------------------- *** Super Cricket Simulator v2.01 *** *** Read Me File *** ------------------------------------- Thank you for trying out Super Cricket Simulator. Super Cricket Simulator was made in QBasic by Timothy Glover, Syedur Rahman and Aditya Mandavilli in the year 2000, and was intended for lovers of cricket and cricket computer games. ----------------- Starting The Game ----------------- To start the game, use the 'SCSV201.EXE' file. For any help, read the 'README.TXT' file. For previous updates, read the 'UPDATE.TXT' file. The following files are included in the ZIP archive: SCSV201.EXE - Starting File README.TXT - Readme File (This File) UPDATE.TXT - Update File AUS.TXT - Australian Team File BAN.TXT - Bangladesh Team File ENG.TXT - English Team File IND.TXT - Indian Team File KEN.TXT - Kenyan Team File NZ.TXT - New Zealander Team File PAK.TXT - Pakistani Team File RSA.TXT - South African Team File SCO.TXT - Scottish Team File SL.TXT - Sri Lankan Team File WI.TXT - West Indian Team File ZIM.TXT - Zimbabwean Team File The following files are created when the game is run: MATCH.TXT - Match Output File --------- Team File --------- When playing the game, you will need to make your own team file first. All this consists of is a team name and 11 players, with "" marks around the names. A player's name cannot be more than one word, so let's say you want to have a Mark Waugh, use M_Waugh or M.Waugh. It is advised that the player's names are 9 or under charachters long. The team name and ground name can be as long as they like. Here is an example of part of a team: "Australia" "The_Gabba" "M_Waugh" "Gilchrist" "Ponting" "Bevan" ... ... "Dale" "McGrath" All 9 test playing nations team files are included with this game, however they are all based on test match international players. You will have to create your own one day teams for now. ----------- Output File ----------- At the end of every game, an output file is created. The file is called "MATCH.TXT" and will be found in the same directory as the program file, Super Cricket Simulator. If you are running a play-by-e-mail (PBeM/PBM) league with this game, it is advised you change the file's name before starting a new match. Let's say you played match 2 of round 12, you should change the filename from "MATCH.TXT" to "R12M2.TXT", or similar. --------- Test Game --------- The major new installment from SCS v2.00, was a test-match simulation. Before hand you could only play one-day matches, but the test match feature has expanded new ideas for future versions of the game. The test-match feature includes just about everything the one-day feature had, except that the run-rate has been taken away, as it is not necessary, and that instead of two innings, there are of course four. A "declare" option has not yet been made, but will hopefully in the next release. There are four ways to win a test: - Win (By Runs) - Win (By Wickets) - Tie (All Scores Equal) - Win (By Innings + Runs) We are yet to have: - Draw (5 Days Run Out) Hopefully too, those results will also be added in upcoming versions. ------------ One-Day Game ------------ As said in the "Test Game", the One-Day format is very similar. One-Day format is played over two innings total (one innings per team), just like a regular One-Day International or Domestic. Only features different from the Test Game are there are only two innings, as said above, and that a "run rate" is included. The run rate is based on RUNS/OVERS, so if a team made 200 all out in 40 overs, then their run rate would be 5.00, not 4.00 from 50 overs. There are three ways to end a result in a one-day match, which are: - Win (By Runs) - Win (By Wickets) - Tie (All Scores Equal) The only other option in one-day matches for a result is: - No Result (Game Washed Out/Abandoned) Which will not be added to the game, as there is no weather feature in the game. -------- Problems -------- Problems have been experienced with the game, if you report any major troubles please do e-mail the programmers to try and resolve the problem. Please report all problems to tl_glover@hotmail.com or endoor@iname.com, thankyou. -------------- Copyright Info -------------- Copyright 2000: Super Cricket Simulator, Timothy Glover, Syedur Rahman and Aditya Mandavilli.
