This past week has seen England’s players return to County action, England’s back-up side prepare to do battle with Sri Lanka, while Northants’ ulikely batting heroes continue in top form.
Champions Nottinghamshire were again the early pace setters in Division One and were the only side with a 100% winning record after their first three games. They looked highly unlikely to maintain an unbeaten record as early as their second game when they conceded a 193 run deficit at Headingley against the much fancied Yorkshire after both sides first innings.
