Two reviews from Archie this week, one is Ken Farnes’ autobiography, and the second a biography of the Essex and England paceman published 60 years after his death
If a fair dinkum Aussie like Archie enjoys an autobiography from the pen of an archetypal Englishman it can only mean one thing – it’s a bloody good read!
It must have been tempting for Archie to forget this one and wait for its successor, but for the benefit of his many English friends he felt obliged to stick with it
Our thanks go to all the worthy candidates for Book of the Year that we have read this year, but the main award can only go to one author, and for 2013 that is John Barclay.
Next week we announce our Book of the Year for 2013, but in the meantime England fans might want to try and track down a copy of this record of a successful tour to Australia
