Latest County Transfers

With the season over the English counties are being to make their moves in the transfer market, below is a run down of who's been released and whom the counties have recruited for the new season.
Nobody has really been aggressive in the market as yet; most counties are weighing up the options and making initial enquiries for players, however some noticeable moves have been made with Sussex and Northamptonshire both acquiring the services of talented English players in Ian Ward and Usman Afzaal respectively.
However arguably the biggest coup has been made by Somerset who have obtained the services of Australian ODI Captain (Vice in Tests) Ricky Ponting, who joins the county on a short term deal in the middle of the season as one of their two overseas players for 2004, with Jamie Cox expected to take over in between.
While Ricky Ponting is applying his traded on the batting tracks of Taunton, fellow Australian team-mates Shane Warne and Darren Lehmann make returns to county cricket with Hampshire and Yorkshire respectively.
